Sounds like it could be a nice car. Very rare color combo, at least here in the US.
Really crappy pics. You would think for €90K starting bid they could have taken better pics.

I would think somebody here on the board would have the €€€/£££/$$$ to take a run at it. It certainly won't be me.
If I could only win the lotto or some rich unknown relative would leave me EVERYTHING!!! Not happening

I now have the on-line catalog for the sale with the E60. Estimated selling price is 90/120000 Euros.

The auction house charges 16.67% on the hammer price & then the government take a further 20% of the 16.67% auction house profit !!!
Then if you were to title the car in France there would be a another charge to get the registration book (Carte grise in French) of about 600/700 Euros.

Also note that the auction house in their "general conditions of sale" take no responsibility for any of their statements in the catalog, saying that any problems should be resolved between the seller & the buyer.Basically if the car is a pile of junk, it is nothing to do with them, even though they give all the cars a glowing write-up.........

A Swiss order E500 in Dunkel [Midnight] Blue 904 (non-metallic) that was converted to an E60 at a later stage. Notice no 957 code.

140120 Euros was with the buyers premium & rip-off French VAT (TVA) tax, so that makes about $160000.
Still amazing as Dave says for a non 957 code car.......

I could be wrong, but I believe this car is back on the market. The written description is very similar. The Odo now reads 75700km. Seller is calling this a MY 1993, though.

The Mercedes 500 E is a legend, and although the model fell out of favour for several years, those enlightened enthusiasts who hung on to their cars were not mistaken: from its birth, the saloon assembled by Porsche had the potential to become a collectors' car. And yet... That was without reckoning with Mercedes' historic tuning partner, AMG. Once AMG got its hands on the car, the result was an explosive combination. In 1993, after the W124's third and final facelift, 12 examples of the E60 were first of all assembled directly at AMG's workshops; these were retrospectively named the E60 Limited. These rare examples were sold by the company at an astronomical price, but made such an impact that a select group of additional customers asked for similar cars.

Mercedes offered them the possibility of having a new 500 E delivered to AMG, where the tuner would look after modifying the car. The capacity of the V8 engine was increased to 6 litres and power increased to 381 bhp, while the car was fitted with longer gearing, a sportier AMG suspension set-up and, of course, alloy wheels specific to AMG. Only 126 or so such cars were ever built. The W124 E60 AMG thus has all the ingredients which make up a real gem: a unique engine, unrivalled power at the time, very limited production and, above all, an exceptionally strong character.

The model which we are offering for sale is a genuine E60 AMG. Its history is confirmed by its original bill of sale, a point on which every E60 must be beyond reproach. This car was originally ordered new and delivered on 28 September 1993 by Lukas Hüni in Zurich. It was ordered in dark blue with a blue leather interior and first registered on 1 October 1993 in Geneva. It was then dispatched to AMG to be modified. It returned to Lukas Hüni on 17 December 1993 and delivered to its first owner, an important business banker.

It was later sold through Lukas Hüni to is current owner, a major collector of Mercedes. This extremely rare E60 has always been in the hands of wealthy owners in Switzerland and has been scrupulously maintained. It comes with its service booklet and is showing less than 77,000 km. Today, it is in exceptional condition. The bodywork is excellent and has its original paint, which remains superb. The interior meanwhile is simply splendid: the wood trim has a rich shine and the blue leather is scarcely worn. A car which is very difficult to find, this E60 AMG deserves the attention of the most demanding collectors. Its exclusivity and inherent qualities make it one of the most desirable modern classics to have been built in Germany.

The original auction text from May 2017 reads almost identically, plus it's the same rare colors, odometer reading, 300kph speedo, and same wheels. Has to be the same car.

The Odo rolled forward 1800 klicks in the 14 month timeframe of this thread. I can't see a dealer or consignor accruing that much usage. Seems reasonable that the car did sell as a result of the 2017 auction or some time after.

It looks like the same car. Same VIN Number, same colors. If you believe the auction site from last year (which is a reputable one) it sold for 140,120 Euro's. Given the exchange rate on that day it was $157,032 USD. I am not sure if that included the buyers premium or not.
I looked at a 957 958 code one ~two years ago in UK, it was the "Limited" version. It was a black exterior and had that "the dye looking" two tone interior. It only had 19K miles on it. I am not sure if it was a UK originally or a Japan AMG one. I should have pulled the trigger (GBP to USD was near an all time low). It sold to someone in Monaco later for something like 95K GBP after the pound had recovered so about $125 USD.
I actually like this ones interiors color and exterior color better. While this one is not a 957, it was in fact like many of the E60's, it rolled off the line as 500E/E500 and then converted by AMG to E60.
Assuming it is the same car, if you look at the pics from the auction that @mercepor posted above, and the pictures that @acer10 posted from current sale, there is one small but glaring difference that would need to be explained. I won't try to be like anyones second grade teacher here and ask "do you see the difference in these two pictures" but curious if anyone else notices the difference (which seem strange given it is the same VIN number).
In any case it looks like a great car.

The first 5 photos were a joke, so it's hard to compare... but the only thing I see is the driver door pocket is peeling in the more recent photos. Could be it was patched for the older photos, and the glue didn't last.

the new photo's from the new seller show the mercedes star/emblem in place on the hood....the ones from the aguttes auction show no mercedes star/emblem on the hood.
I will dig in and try to find out why. If the newer photo's were missing the star, I could understand (maybe torn off by someone), why the older ones do not have the mercedes star/emblem from the 2017 auction and the latest one does seems odd (an auction site like aguttes does not seem like it would auction a car with the start ripped off with no replacement...but I am not sure).
Side note: the 1994 Limited "957 code" one in UK I looked at had neither the Mercedes star/emblem on the hood nor a completely blank hood (like the older photos of the car here had in the older aguttes pictures), it had the Mercedes emblem with no star mounted on it.

Thumbs up to @gsxr...I asked one of the top AMG experts here in US to look at the photo's and he picked up the driver door peeling like @gsxr did...I missed that.

D'oh! How did I miss the hood star! That is odd... my guess is the previous owner wanted no emblem, and the new/current owner wanted the star back. But since it resides in the painted area of the hood, it would warrant closer inspection.

I took me looking at the photos about 5 times before I noticed (when I was looking for something else). I believe the car has had two owners (not sure) both in Switzerland. I suspect you are right, one wanted the star and one did not. The 957 car I referenced in the UK just had the mercedes "emblem" on the hood, but no star mounted onto the emblem, and I remember thinking that was unusual also. I suspect you are right, it was probably owners preference in this case and I suspect the UK case also. I believe (not sure) that 500E's and E500's came standard with the stars (??). Do you happen to know?

All years of 124 chassis have the hood star as standard equipment. Some people remove them, but the vast majority leave the star on the hood. (I have heard of some exceptions in high-theft areas, where the star was frequently stolen...)

Thank you. I kind of thought so but was not sure. I had two very low mileage '95 E320 cabs (still have one) and I knew the E320's all had them. I had a '99 C43 that had the star, I thought all 90's MB's did but was not sure.
That would say the 1994 E60 Limited I looked at in the UK had it's star removed (which I kind of suspected when I looked at it, but I was not sure if the E60's were treated differently in this regard.
This would also say the last owner of the Swiss one put it back to stock (or the agutte photo's were photoshopped....I agree those photo's were poor quality)
