I think Otto W124 models are very good.
I have purchased this 1/18 W124 E500 Limited model made by Otto but a Japanese firm 'intervened' somehow to make it different.
there are many manufacturers of 1/18---and OTTO are pretty much one of the "worst".
But the positives about OTTO..is that they do make models of more "rare" or "special" cars.-..but negatives are non funtioning panels,doors....poor quality windows, poor interior, etc.
But OTTO are the only manufacturer of the w124 500e.--as far as i know. They do look allright though..but you cant compare the quality of the otto ,against either autoart...Minichamps and also Kyosho (which is a RC Brand..but they do make static models aswell),and some others i cant remember the name of at the top of my head...
I do have the w124 e500 limited,,,and the w201 2.5-16 Evo! Otto models myself..and they are nice...but would be nice if the quality was even better.but just to repeat myself one last time..they do look pretty nice just sitting there,so if you do not mind the lack of details in these different areas mentioned...they are perfectly fine
Yes, Minichamps also is very good.
I also have some W124/W123 models from the German toy car manufacturers called SIKU, HERPA, WIKING in smaller versions.
I don't know of they made larger versions in 1/18 or not?
Siku is a veeery nice company from back in the day..though i do think they are more into "toys"...as i had a "crane truck" made by Siku when i was a kid..though it was a proper one..with a lot of nice details..especially for it beeing sold at a toy store..I still have it
