1,200mA Draw

Im working on a 1992 500E and with everything shut off all doors closed it is pulling a 1,200 mA draw.
(I have attached a picture for reference)
- When the module on the right (A) is disconected the draw goes down to 500mA
- When the module on the left (B) is disconected the draw goes down to 0mA
- When im testing the wires going to the left module (B) the only wire that has power is the main power which is hot at all times, the key on power wire only gets power when the key is on.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing these modules to not go to sleep?

Your problem is visible in the photo... see arrows in screenshot below.

The X11/4 diagnostic socket is "leaking" current. The +12V battery terminal is leaking to the switched +12v terminal, causing the modules to power up with the ignition off. Pulling the modules eliminates the draw, but not the root cause.

Click here for a very detailed writeup on this issue with a ton of photos. It's a straightforward repair, but not particularly easy. You'll have to replace the plastic socket, and may have to replace some of the female barrels if they are damaged or corroded.

:shocking:
