No affiliation. @AdamCabrio found this one. Odd that they are listing it as a 1995 E500 when the first registration date was 04/1993. This appears to be a 300CE (pre-facelift) that also received a facelift and 500E front fenders along with the M119 conversion. Unknown if the cabrio was an original Sportline chassis, or just has the shift knob added. Sadly the car has standard headlights which means four fog lights and only two high beams (instead of 2 fogs and 4 high beams as it should be).

VIN = WDB1240661B844363 (added from post #7 below)

That’s a great looking car in my favorite color. With only 62K km/38K miles there’s a lot left after any nit picking corrections are made. Hopefully whoever ends up with it can find the correct headlights.

Note that photos can be deceiving especially on a black car so a walk around inspection would definitely be required.

I received the Fahrzeugbrief. It shows VIN WDB1240661B844363. To be added in OP.

But it also shows something way more interesting. Since it reads 4973, 225 kW (302hp) / 5700rpm, and Motortyp M119 Japan Ausführung.

That is when this overview came to my mind. Can it be the NV (Low Compression) version?

I think the one that wrote this, didn't know about the 225 kW. And left it open.

The front fenders are not 036 either. Someone has massaged the factory fenders.
If those aren't 036 fenders (I can't tell for sure), they have the 036 flares/arches welded on. They aren't just factory fenders pushed out. Would be nice if there was some documentation and/or photos of the build!

Edit: I am referring to the car in post #1. The different car in post #3 has standard fenders.

:bbq:

Notice the Sacco panel underneath. I agree those aren't just pushed out.
I think the side rocker mouldings might be tweaked OE pieces. They do not match well with the 036 fender. Should have used an 036 rocker panel and cut a section out of the center to shorten it:

Marco claims the following about the 225 kW / 306 PS version on a Dutch forum.
Is this true, a 500E or E500 with 306 PS? Must be low compression and non-catalyst.
As written here.

AFAIK the 124.036 / 119.974 was never offered in a 225kw/302hp/306ps NV/low-compression version.

I believe the low compression M119 was only offered in the 140 and/or 129 chassis.

:gsxrepc:

This is the Fahrzeugbrief that i was talking about.

I took a closer look. It also shows M119 Japan Version with W124 500E drivetrain parts.
Does this mean a 500E with 225 kW/306 PS exists?

And if so, can anybody here - with access to EPC - confirm what a guy named Marco wrote in #15?
