UPDATE: Sold for $50k + fees + transport.

This is super cool. 6076 cc engine should be 101mm bore with the "standard" 94.8mm crankshaft from the usual 6.0L. Basically, Lorinser punched the block out 1mm larger vs a normal AMG 6L M119. The 550 lb-ft torque claim is incorrect though, these engines typically made ~450 torques.

The yellow airbox hurts my eyes a bit. WOuld have looked better in blue to match everything else. The decorative cover in front of the airbox is not technically correct for the 6L M119 in a 210 chassis, AMG created a custom one that is shorter, which ends immediately in front of the cam solenoids (see post #4 below). This yellow cover pokes too far forward. I suspect the airbox is a standard M119 box with the inlet cut/welded off-center, like RENNtech did on their early 210 builds... AMG also created a custom airbox for the 119+210 E50/E60 builds. The airbox inlet ducts are also generic items (like RENNtech used), not the AMG-specific ducts.

EDIT: After looking at the photos, I can forgive the silver spray paint on the rear exhaust... but I can NOT forgive the black spray paint on almost all front & rear suspension components. This could be covering up significant rust. Very fishy since the car received a complete dry-ice treatment.

1997 Mercedes-Benz E62 Lorinser Wagon

Registered to Lorinser When New, Geneva Motor Show Press Car

This 1997 Mercedes-Benz E62 Lorinser wagon was first registered to, and converted by, the German tuning outfit Lorinser in July of 1997, and was featured at the Geneva Auto Show by Lorinser. The car began life as an E420T from the factory, and it was further modified by Lorinser with a 6.0-liter M119 V8, big brake kit, Lorinser multi-piece wheels, full Lorinser body kit, custom exhaust, bespoke interior, and much more. Finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic (744) over custom black/blue leather interior, additional features include a Philips integrated navigation unit, a Pioneer upgraded sound system, sport suspension, wood and leather steering wheel, xenon headlights, and polished Lorinser door sills. Recent service in preparation for the sale includes spark plugs, oil and filter service, head gaskets and fuel pump. Now with 161k kilometers (~100k miles), this S210 Lorinser 6.2 wagon is now offered by the selling dealer out of Aalen, Germany with a Lorinser certificate of authentication, service records, Lorinser build sheet, engine refresh, and stamped service book.
The body is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic (744) and features a full Lorinser body kit including the front bumper, rocker panel covers, rear bumper, and hatch spoiler. Additional exterior details include xenon headlights with washers, fog lamps, an electric slide and tilt sunroof, and factory heat rejecting blue glass. Squared-off Lorinser exhaust tips peek out from under the Lorinser bumper mated to a full Lorisner Sebring exhaust system. The seller notes a full repaint was done during the restoration of the car.
The factory wheels have been replaced with multi-piece five-spoke 19″ Lorinser wheels wearing 245/35 Pirelli P-Zero tires with 2024 date codes. The car features a sport suspension with lowering springs. An additional option checked during the Lorinser build is the reinforced Lucas Lorinser big brake kit. The seller shows the brake caliper adapters in the undersides of the gallery. These are 320mm brake rotors in the front with a larger Lucas/Lorinser brake caliper system retrofitted to fit over the larger rotors with a four piston system, replacing the more rudimentary two piston system from Mercedes-Benz.
The interior is trimmed in bespoke Lorinser black and blue leather with matching door panels. Optioned dark birdseye maple wood trim adorns the dashboard, center console, and door panels that was installed during the Lorinser conversion. The front memory powered seats were reupholstered in perforated blue and black leather seat covers to resemble the R129 seat pattern. The rear seats also resemble the SL style seat leather pattern to match the front. A Lorinser shift knob extends out of the center console, both of which show no UV damage or fading. This S210 comes factory equipped with ASR, power adjustable mirrors, dual climate control, and cruiser control. A period correct Philips navigation unit is installed where the ash tray would go as well as an upgraded Pioneer head unit below the climate control fascia. Polished Lorinser door sill plates are installed under all four doors.
The leather and birds eye maple trimmed pre-facelift four spoke steering wheel frames a Lorinser branded 300-km/h speedometer, a tachometer, and a combination gauge for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 161k kilometers (~100k miles).
The Lorinser 6.0-liter M119 V8 was measured at 6076 ccm although it was named the E62 by Lorinser at the time. Power is sent the rear wheels through a five-speed 722.6 automatic transmission. Power was rated at 394 horsepower and 550 ft/lbs of torque. Thorough service has been performed in preparation for the sale including spark plugs, oil and filter service, head gaskets and fuel pump. Lorinser Sebring exhaust has been installed and detailed underside pictures are included in the gallery showing a dry ice blasting was performed. A yellow Lorinser airbox sits atop the big M119.
This S210 Lorinser wagon is now offered by the selling dealer out of Aalen, Germany with a Lorinser certificate of authentication, service records, head gasket surface, Lorinser build sheet, full repaint, bespoke Lorinser black and blue interior, and stamped service book.

The MB Market Insights

As an American, a S210 E420 wagon is cool in its own right. A Lorinser 6.0-liter M119 powered wagon will darn near make us pass out. Lorinser is breathed in the same sentence as RENNtech, Brabus, and Carlsson. They are a reputable tuning company that built such things as this monster E-Class wagon which was featured at the Geneva Motor show and owned by Lorinser when new. This example is incredible. The engine work itself makes this special as it’s a punched out M119 V8 that produces nearly 400 horsepower and even more torque. The two-tone custom black and blue interior leather is patterned after a R129 seat front and rear which makes the interior even more bespoke. The underside is spotless, the head gasket work means the engine was gone through, and the interior retains all of the period modifications that make this car even more in vogue in 2025, where original tuner cars from this era are starting to fetch big money.

mmmmhh . Front brake 320??? nope 420 has 335mm or so and e50 345mm Disc in my remeber.

And the Airbox is right .This Engine has an e50 Valvecover with oilcap over the Chain. Normal w210 e420 has the oilcap to this point we have this too in our W124. This is the reason for the different Airboxes normal e420 and e50

mmmmhh . Front brake 320??? nope 420 has 335mm or so and e50 345mm Disc in my remeber.
300x28mm is standard for the 210.

The W210/S210 E50/E60 AMG had 334x32mm AMG single-piston iron calipers with fully-floating "pinned" rotors.

And the Airbox is right .This Engine has an e50 Valvecover with oilcap over the Chain. Normal w210 e420 has the oilcap to this point we have this too in our W124. This is the reason for the different Airboxes normal e420 and e50
The airbox is located correctly but may be a modified standard airbox, not the custom AMG airbox - no way to tell without removing and looking at the underside for the part numbers.

It's the front decorative cover with slots that is incorrect for the 210 chassis. This should be a smaller cover than what's pictured here.

I should have a thread on this from a year or two back. Will be following this one closely to see what number it ends up on.

Can’t tell if the intake box is original or if a stock one was repainted yellow. There’s a photo with Lorinser written instead of Mercedes-Benz. Not sure why the yellow but I guess it’s part of the package.

This car doesn't have code 957 so it would have originally been delivered with the funky W210 single-inlet airbox/filter assembly. Lorinser would have had to source the airbox shown here. The ideal pieces would have been the E50 airbox + cover + brackets, all HWA- part numbers. The front cover isn't HWA and I have a feeling the airbox isn't either. Also strange they didn't use the E50 brakes. All this stuff was available at the time.

:tumble:

It's perhaps worth noting that I spoke to Marc Luca (the owner who sells many rare Mercedes) about this before it went online on his website.

It's imperfect because it's a press car. But technically @gsxr is correct.

The car is a mixture of various components. In terms of rust, the car is good - for a 210.

I have a few Brabus conversions myself, so the Lorinser was definitely interesting. But for the price he was officially (and also unofficially) asking, I didn't want to pay it.

That seems to be a common theme: Can't get asking price then goes up on MBM. Often times they will go for lower or sometimes even higher than the original asking price from more exposure.

Do you have 6.0 Brabus conversions? Wagons?

Winner / high bid $50k + fees + transport from Germany to USA . Probably around $60k USD all-in. Seems reasonable given the rarity.

There's likely nothing special about the engine other than the 1mm oversize bore. I'd prefer to stay at 100mm bore as the M119 already has thin cylinder walls at this point.

RENNtech will build one like just it if you send them enough unmarked bills.

Yes, I would have gotten it much cheaper anyway. His asking price was lower. Should have bought it to make a profit :D Especially after transportation and import tax(?).

I don't have any 6.0 conversions.
But I have something with 12 cylinders :)
And a 5.7L M113K and a few other things.

Correct! Don’t wanna name them publicly, but I’m close to someone from the team. So there might be some possibility’s for a better parking spot :D

General recommendation: Come to Schöne Sterne! It‘s a great event as well. Many cars from Europe.
Yes. I am familiar with both. Never paid a visit to both though.

@phoenix217

Do you know bore and stroke of the Brabus 5.7L M113K engine?
I have a few tests on my computer. Where i read it has 5610 cm³.
But none have the exact bore and stroke specifications.

- AMG 55 has 97 x 92 mm = 5439 cm³.
- Brabus 58 has 99 x 93 mm = 5727 cm³.

98 x 93 comes close, since 5612 cm³. With a bit less accurate Pi it indeed makes 5610.

One true rare engine, that's for sure.
