I don't race it but certainly the prior owners did. Car did the 1998 Michelin Car and Driver One Lap of America as one of two RennTech entrants, placed 4th in the Luxury Car Class.
Threadjack alert: maw, I've heard about this in-famous One Lap, IIRC there was a W210 RENNtech E60 which competed as well. Do you have any documentation that shows the results, particularly for the Luxury class? I'd love to see how a 500E fared against other vintage iron, and the E60 too! (If you do have the info, might be neat to start a new thread...)

It had to be. All the website shows is that the other car was a 1997 Sedan, which Hartmut drove to WIN the Luxury Car Division. I figured the only thing that fit that bill from them was a W210 E60.

Entrants and Results attached; and here...http://www.onelapofamerica.com/event/ResultsIndex.do?eventId=15. I would have loved for it to have run in 1996 against Hartmut's 1991 E60 and the MB 190E that ran (which actually beat a 190E 16V rather handily). Check this out... http://www.onelapofamerica.com/event/Results.do?eventId=13&res=OVL_CL02

Now, you want to cleave this off into something separate, Racing 500E's perhaps?

:deniro:

Cheers,

It's funny how small the world gets when you start looking at "racing Mercedes". Lots of West Bloomfield and other Michigan cities when you look at the Mercedes Entrants over the years. I suspect Satish and the Moterwerks crew have a lot to do with that, the same way Hartmut and the RennTech crew have so much to do with it in Florida. And I wouldn't be surprised to see if Jono had much to do with it in Georgia, etc., etc.

But you cover the whole space very quickly here in the US, probably with 6 guys and most of us know 3 of them, sort of thing. Interesting and humbling.
