At our local w124 forum here in Denmark, we also uses the php based forum, we have on the homepage the 30 newest topic replies. Not sure how to do it but it gives a very good view on if anything has happened or something interesting has come up.
http://www.124forum.dk/
The other thing, I would love to get an notification by email every time someone replyes on an topic I have replyed to or started. Without me having to push a button, it should be automatic every time.
Sorry for my bad english, hope you understand. It is pretty hard to explain these computer technical features!
Thanks for this nice new site! Love it in white background, more discreet ;-)
Thanks!

The latest topics I believe is a "code mod" that can be fairly easily modified. I did some mods about 4 nights ago and totally screwed up the whole board - to the point where I had to take it offline for about 5 hours in the middle of the night US time and work on it to get it right again. It wasn't easy. I finally got it back up and correct, and I looked at the clock. It was 5:45 AM and I had to leave for work at 7:30. Got a quick hour of sleep on the couch in our living room (didn't want to wake up the wife and family upstairs) and my kids came down at 7 AM and woke me up. Next night I slept 12 hours straight.
Anyway, I have set up a "separate" test board on the server (no worries -- different URL) which I will use to implement mods and test the code. When things are working OK then I can copy the modified code over to this board and the mod will be implemented. I'll work on this eventually.
Per your second request -- you have the ability now to "subscribe" to individual topics and posts that you care about, and I believe that you will be notified by e-mail when they are updated. Just look for a "check box" below where you type in your message that says "notify me when a reply is posted" and that should do the trick.
Cheers,
Gerry

The problem is that I forget to check this box every time, and then i forget to come back to the topic...
I'll have to remember that!

You can set the notification to occur automatically when replying (it pre-checks the box for you). Here's instructions:
1) Click "User Control Panel" (top right on page)
2) On the left frame, under Options, click "Board Preferences"
3) Click "Edit Posting Defaults"
4) Select "Yes" for "Notify me upon replies by default"
5) Enjoy.
