The .034 is completely different, because the rear quarter panel and battery compartment is similar to the 4/5/6-cyl cars. The top of the battery sits above the level of the trunk floor.

The 036 has unique battery compartment sheet metal so the battery sits lower, and the top of the battery compartment door is flush with the trunk floor. The trunk carpets are also different.

AH ok. I dident know that. Why dident they make them equal as both types went to Porsche for the engine modification only the 400/420 were then brought back for the rest assembly as Ive understood

@BRABUS124 - Another bigger difference is the size of the fuel tank in the 500e vs. 400e, 90L vs. 70L. That also shifts around how much trunk space is available and already started the "shift" in sizing of the rear trunk volume + pieces.

Tank size in any sedan or coupe can be ordered with 90L tank. My Brabus 124 has it to as an option. 😊 But the 500 has it Standart.

Here is some info describing the battery trunk differences between 034 and 036.
AFAIK the 034 production had no intervention from Porsche, but was entirely built at the MB factory.
