WANTED 500E Fog Lamps

Hi all,

Am looking for a pair of fog lamps to replace my cracked ones. 1991 500E

Anyone know anyone with a pair or lenses let me know! Thanks

These are still available new from MB last I checked, and the price isn't terrible... most used ones will have toasted lenses, best to buy new and apply Lamin-X protective film.

Best to purchase replacement lenses if the fogs are functional with no damage to the internals.

If they are the same lens as an early R129 A003 826 3590 and A003 826 3690
They were approx £143 each plus VAT when I rang a UK main dealer last week
If you can find a more reasonable source I wouldnt mind a pair myself

If I get just the lenses, is it a snap on snap off clips? Or is it a break off & glue new ones on job.

Wondering how much potential there is for breaking the plastic when removing old glass and then does it have to be glued on?

Anyone know the part numbers for just the lenses?

The clips snap on and snap off. However, it is easy to inadvertently turn the snap-on snap-off clips into a "Break off and glue" type of clip if you know what I mean. .... and I mean on the NEW lenses!!!

These are the type of lenses I am looking for for my R129
I am not sure if these are the ones used on 500e
These have an integral plastic mounting frame
I have seen cheaper lenses advertised that are just a glass lens
but I dont think they are correct ?
If we can find a good price in the US I would gladly pay half the
shipping and taxes on two sets (plus the cost of a pair of lenses)

Great price on the lenses in 2020 Gerry and from a Mercedes main dealer too
Parts are very expensive in the UK

Perhaps more sellers = more competition = lower margin?

Loootttts of MB dealers all over 50 states all selling the same MB part (so it is fungible) all reaching the same 300+ million ppl customer base (ecommerce) through the magic of efficient shipping (ups, fedex, usps) …

I don’t think the same dynamic exists elsewhere …. Just a guess?

I mean UK is only 65 ish million people, and not part of the EU …. And are there sooooooo many dealers like we have in the USA?
