Thought I'd start a picture thread. Most other forums have one, so why not this one?

Please add your favourite 500E pics here.

I'll start with this one. I think the car sit's so nicely. It's a great colour and the wheels really work. It's one of my favourites.

This one is interesting because you rarely see amg front and rear bumpers from a side profile. I just can't decide if I like them. I actually think the standard lines can't be improved UNLESS you have a wagon in which case bumpers + sideskirts look the business.

The rear skirt looks a lot like the Gen2 AMG rear skirts as used on the 560SEC and SEL models....

Cheers,
Gerry

So are we putting up pics of any car’s we like aside from our own, or our cars count as well…cause honestly (not to sound like a pompous tool) I really like the way my car looks.

I say put up whatever you like best. If that's your own car, so be it :-)

The sign of a satisfied owner! Would love to see nice pics of peoples' cars ... DEFINITELY including more of yours!

However, if you have favorite pics of your car, that's why I created the "Owners and their Cars" sub-board, for people to post photos, describe, discuss and answer questions about their own cars.

Cheers,
Gerry

Yeah, that is exactly what I have done and put up a few pics there, but wasn’t sure if I should add a few more here (don’t want to take up too much space on your servers).

But as a proud owner goes…I can easily drop a few more pics since I borrowed a camera when I got my new brakes were finally done and took a few more pics.

Although I do not have a picture of this car, the screen shot of this car from this video – “Mercedes W124 E500 - one love...”, 29 seconds into the video is very nice Silver example.

I have tons of server space and bandwidth, so no worries. I have a good hosting plan. However, I am finally getting around to moving this board over to the vBulletin-based (what 500Ex uses) site. Not an easy task, but will be done in the coming weeks. Once that is converted over and operational, this domain will redirect to the original domain of 500eboard.com, and eventually I'll move this 500Espot.com domain over to that hoster as well. The new site using the vBulletin forum will also be surrounded by a full Wordpress-based site, so we'll have the wiki back up and visible, the forum, as well as a full site surrounding it.

We're pushing 300 registered users here now, which I'm happy to see. At the end of this year, I'll start pruning users who haven't logged in at least 18 months and who have never posted anything.

Cheers,
Gerry

I've got pictures of more than 190 different 500E500's in a folder (400MB). Which would be the better way to share it with you?

As we say: "It raises everybody ".

And still with More torque than a 2010 Porsche 997 Turbo and a Gallardo LP550 Balboni

l

I don't think so, It was a standard 500E. It does belong to Inge, but I don't think it was him driving it around the course because Inge looks like two Steve Austins put together !

I wish that I could visit the Norway gathering one year, maybe with a Red car ;)

Regards

Hey Gary!
It's been a long time...how's everything? Good to see you still have your M5, me too :-)

I hope to meet G Man soon - he moved from Austin to Houston area and is living just a few miles from me. We have a pretty good & growing contingent of 500Es here in the greater Houston area now.

Wait, so the silver car I mentioned was a 1985 230e?[/quote]

Yes, Inger tok that car a went to Brabus in Germany many years ago. Inger himself has a paint shop, that is why his car is always looks fresh. :)

Mind y'all, I'm just gonna upload two images of my own car. That should say it all.

Cheers,
Gerry

That's only half of it....need the second pic so I can fully loose it. :buggin:

Gerry, quick question... at 111mph, you're in 4th gear, right? That's incredible... I thought your trap speed was around 108, but dang, 111!!!

:deniro: :deniro: :deniro:

Yes, that was in fourth gear. Which was a bit of an anomaly because usually my car shifted in to 4th just before crossing the line.

Also, this was my second-fastest run. Fastest was 12.89 seconds but that was in like 35 degree weather, at the end of October of that year. But for that run the trap speed was 108 & change MPH. Must have been a slightly better NOS hit in the mid-end. This was before I had my purge valve installed; by October, I'd gotten it on the car.

I was running drag-radials on my 16-inch MB steel wheels (129 400 02 02).

Cheers,
Gerry

Dang. The trap speed indicates more power... lower ET indicates a better launch. So on the 111 run, the car got out of the hole just a tad slower, but was making a solid 20hp more at the top end compared to the 108 run. Either way, mighty impressive. I'm itching to see what Justin gets from his juiced 500 down in SoCal!

Yup that's Bodo's car. I Wish he'd modified the exterior more, but the interior work is Brilliant. Although Alcantara roof and stitched dashboard is not very noticeable in the top quality standard 500E interior as they are in newer cars.
