" Bremerhaven - He is 83, sitting in a Lamborghini Countach and speeding along the A27 at 180 km/h. Then there's a crash!

It was supposed to be a drive in the classic sports car. But it came to an abrupt end on the highway between Bremerhaven-Überseehäfen and Debstedt. According to witnesses, the red speedster was traveling at around 180 km/h in the overtaking lane. According to the police, there is no speed limit on this section of the highway.

Skidding crash at 180 km/h
According to initial findings, the 83-year-old driver misjudged the speed of a vehicle in front. He had to brake hard. In doing so, he lost control of his powerful car, according to the police.

As a result, the sports car skidded and hit a van with a trailer. Both vehicles then crashed into the crash barrier. The van and its trailer blocked the entire highway. Full closure!

The 65-year-old driver from Geestland was taken to hospital with minor injuries. The Lamborghini driver from Schiffdorf was uninjured.

Freeway completely blocked in the middle of vacation traffic
The A27 towards Cuxhaven was completely closed by the police after the accident. A traffic jam stretched for miles in the middle of the vacation traffic. It took four hours - around 5.15 p.m. - before the road was free again.

The police estimate the damage to the Lamborghini Countach at around 200,000 euros - the rare sports car is a real collector's item. The damage to the van and trailer is around 5000 euros. Investigations into the exact course of events are still ongoing. "
