Just FYI - the single amp is for the "Active Bass" setup used on low-end sedans, all wagons, and the cabrio. Most other models had a dual-amp setup referred to as "Sound System". Same 1492 head unit was used with both setups.

Thank you guys, I do appreciate the clarification. I was under the impression that the single amplifier was for the later 94/95 models.

Both the BE-1432 (two-piece) and BE-1492 (facelift) stereo systems used a dual-amp setup in the 500E and E500, respectively.

HOWEVER, the amp pairs are different and are not interchangeable between the two different Becker systems.

The single amplifier was not year-dependent. It was used from 1991-1995 but only on models with "Active Bass".

Dual amplifiers (each one smaller, different p/n) were also used from 1991-1995 but only on models with "Sound System".

All 034/036 in North America had Sound System as standard equipment, but this was an optional extra-cost item in ROW.
