Hi guys,

I recently fitted some EVO2 alloys from a Mille Miglia R129 and they look great.

I have noticed that the car now tramlines on some roads, is this normal when fitting these wider tyres or is it a sign that I have some suspension issues to look into?

What brand / model tyres are fitted, how many miles are on them, and when was the last alignment performed?

:klink:

My car does not tramline at all and I have Michelin 245/40-18s on my 500E front. But also I have replaced all of my tie rod ends and my front sway bar bushings plus a 4-wheel aglingment. BTW, rears are 275/35-18.

You should probably check out your suspension.

It depends on the road. I have experienced some tramlining on certain parts of one highway and none on other highways. My suspension is like new and the alignment is spot on. And the tramlining became more noticeable after I switched to wider wheels/tires.

+1 on it being a function of wider tires on less than perfect roads. @TerryA OC SoCal roads don’t count😂. Wider tires will magnify any road imperfections in my experience. I roll 245/18s and the suspension tells me when it’s time to pay attention to the road quality. As soon as I see an “uneven pavement” sign, I know it’s time for both hands on the wheel.🤣 On my FL roads I can generally drive it like Shaft in a 70’s Cadillac — index, thumb and second finger of left hand only.

BTW, I just put all new OEM links on my car to “undo” RENNTech’s rear subframe mod, so it all has less than 5k on it.

@maw1124, OC roads are not that great. California IMOP is not taking care of their roads. Lots of potholes. A lot of the concrete freeways are pretty rough with a lot of what I call a slight sawtooth pattern which promotes up and down bobbing. Concrete is also creates very loud tire noise with the best Michelins you can buy.

I look forward to any freeway with black asphalt that I can ride on. :jono:

If Evo´s - why not this replicas? Potholes here i come...

Asphalt is all I remember about Costa Mesa roads, and I loved the weekend drives down to La Jolla. Lots of asphalt down in SWFL, though, which is where this car lives.
