What do you guys think? Has the qualities overall from automobiles been deteriorated compared to 50-90s era?
This is a simple Mercedes-Benz C-class 2024 where it going over each items for quality check and for me with all that shaky, quaky materials is extremely red-flag compared to the older ones.

Mercedes-Benz has been focusing on softer materials inside for the sake of collision impacts so it needs to deform or feel like a pillow for the safety of passengers. Same for the exterior works where it needs to absorb much energy on a collision accidents.

For example, since the W124 is extremely compact car such that there is no single space/room ( those V8 models ) but comparing to other cars there is amount of space between the radiators and the bumpers like 10-20 cm for the safety.

There has been reports with new SL owners that the car rattle after 6 months ownership. Especially those R232 models where the dashboard creaks.
