Looks like a great turnout packed with so many Mercedes. I barely see a few in some of the car shows I've been to.

It was actually an “informal” put together via social media by Jason Cammisa and Derek Tam-Scott on their social media (Insta) and perhaps mentioned ahead of time on one of their Carmudgeon podcasts. Took place in Berkeley…

Car enthusiasts of all stripes owe much to his creativity, vision and determination. MB was truly in a golden era during his tenure as design chief. Imagine in this day and age how much an executive of his caliber would demand/command in compensation for their outsized impact? I’m sure he was paid suitably, but probably not these eight figure sums hacks who populate these electronic gadget masking as car manufacturers are paid nowadays.

What an incredible legacy that one man leaves behind, almost countless incredible Mercedes designs.

During his speech at Automotive Hall of Fame, 2006. He was actually inspired by American cars design language, hence we see the combination of aerodynamic+engineering=perfection. You get the best or nothing.
