In the last 18months or so I have made the following trips on my 036 and in between some maintenance/R&R work:

January 2010 - 163kkm routine service done by an indie in Zurich - oil/filter, plugs, leads and rotor. Car went in storage in Zurich till April

April 2010
Zurich - Stein am Rhein - Constance - Weggis - Luzern - Zurich
In Storage till late August

August 2010
Zurich - Lake Como - Milan - Locarno - Zurich
In Storage till December

December 2010/January 2011
Zurich - London
At 167kkm Oil/filter change, Lubricate front dampers, Replace power steering hose, Lights converted to left hand traffic, MOT check and register for UK use.

Then off to:

London - Brussels - Hamburg - Amsterdam - Brugge - London

Then basically in Storage till August. (apart from the odd short trips around London to exercise it and visits to my indie mechanic!)
Between February and August 2011 I have had the following replaced:
Top Engine Harness
Caps/seals/rotors
Transmission oil cooler hoses
Engine oil cooler hose
Washer reservoir, grommets and pumps
Refrigerant sensor, Discharge/recharge a/c

Add-ons and non essentials:
Set of black floor mats
Controller for head unit (porsche CDR22) so it can viewed at any angle, from Becker auto sound NJ

August 2011
London - Brussels - Zuffenhausen/Stuttgart - Munich - Liechtenstein - Innsbruck - Munich - London

All in all ,with all the above trips, I've done 12kkm! And my spare litre of Mobil 1 oil in the trunk remains sealed - not a drop of oil despite high speed driving on the Autobahns and other fluids maintains at correct levels.

Total money spent during this period , £2800 approx. Not bad given the bullet proof reliability that's demonstrated when chewing such distances. Oh and not to mentioned the pleasure of driving it!

Anyway, just thought I'd fill you guys in and hope that I have plenty more trips in it.

Now in storage till the next trip. :3gears:

Great....the .036 is a car meant to be driven! The work done seems reasonable for the miles, and a sign of a conscientious owner too. Mine is just headed for winter storage now :-(

I can =)
Already twice Amsterdam- Munich - Amsterdam, 1600 km, no problem.
Kilometerfresser =)

I´ll put it another way- does anyone drove 46.000 km a year with an 036? =)
