"Cars You Date .... Cars You Marry"

Definitely married but also dating. The Brilliant Silver car is with me forever but I will eventually part with the Pearl Black high miler.

Nice little article. I liked the part about "Flipper" and also the part about fascination and infatuation.

Currently I am married to my 500E. That is not to say that I will never part with it.

Yes, I thought the “Flipper” portion of the article would resonate with many people here.

Married!

My harem has consumed much in time, labor and parts.

Haven't married any of them and drive the best one to fit the mission of the day rotating them throughout the month.

However, my wife and kids have said they would bury me in one of them.

Yeah... if I had any sense I’d have dated the Allroad, married the Benzes (500E and S55) and butt f*cked the E46M. Jokes. Alas, I’ve married them all. And the longer I’m with them, my faith in my own choice has grown. All of them are good picks, even if my standards are a bit high. Hence, no Italians, Japanese, Koreans or Americans.

Nice article. Thanks, GVZ.

Cheers,

maw

"Cars You Date .... Cars You Marry"

SINCE 1998:

MBs I married:

E500
560SEC

Cars I dated very seriously:
560SL (R107)
300SEL 6.3 (W109)
450SEL 6.9 (W116)
G320 (W463, still dating)
300TE (S124)
E320T (2x, S124)

Cars I dated:
560SEL (V126)
380SEL (V126)
280SE (W108)

For “Better or Worse” it’s my 1993 500E

I’m still married (about 20+years) to my 1984 Euro 500SL but am considering divorce.

Others that have come and gone;

1957 190SL >> Went to Japan by Air Freight
1964 220SEb Euro Coupe
1967 230 Euro Fintail

I think one has to own an E500E for at least 10 years in order to credibly say they’re married to the breed. Anything less is just an affair.....

Ok so a 1 night stand is a flip, dating is short ownership (with the realization that the car is too needy), an affair is short ownership (you love the car but can't convert on a long term relationship), and married is 10+ year ownership.
