DIY DSP ?

It's been awhile since I've played around with the car-audio, and based-upon 2phast's comment about DSP's, I started looking into.

What I have today is the following:

1) 360TE AMG: Blaupunkt Toronto head-unit (love the Bluetooth integration), feeding an Alpine amp and ADS co-axials in custom-made front door panels.
2) 500E #1: Alpine head-unit, feeding Alpine amps, and Focal 5.25" co-axials in custom-made front door panel.
3) 500E #2: Sony head-unit, stock amps, stock speakers.

Name brand DSP are pricey ($300-$900), so initially I was turned-off.

However, I came across a mini-DSP kits which have had 4+ years of development and support, and is configurable by a PC/Mac.

Has anyone played around with these ?

I was going to say get an AudioControl DQT but apparently those have been discontinued (and, they need an RTA for proper setup).

Are you looking for "effect" processing that tries to make the car sound like a concert hall or whatever, or are you looking for pinpoint equalization to correct in-car response?

:pc1:

@ Dave: the latter- equalization for correct in-car response.

@ Rick: that Pioneer head-unit looks VERY promising. While I like the functions of BlueTooth and flash card playback, the audio and FM sensitivity of the Blaupunkt doesn't compare with the Alpine head-unit. Thanks for the link!
