• Hi Guest !

    Welcome to the 500Eboard forum.

Since its founding in late 2008, 500Eboard has become the leading resource on the Internet for all things related to the Mercedes-Benz 500E and E500. In recent years, we have also expanded to include the 400E and E420 models, which are directly related to the 500E/E500.

We invite you to browse and take advantage of the information and resources here on the site. If you find helpful information, please register for full membership, and you'll find even more resources available. Feel free to ask questions, and make liberal use of the "Search" function to find answers.

We hope you will become an active contributor to the community!

    Sincerely,
    500Eboard Management

THE reason most of us are members on this site is the overwhelming amount of combined knowledge of the members (Collective-for Trekies!) that can be accessed in maintaining our 500Es.

As a new owner and DIYer, I had NO knowledge about maintaining my 500Es before I found this site.
For nearly six years, I have poured over posts by others so that I may "glean from the masters" about my 500Es.

However, there is one section of the forum that I had ignored. . . to my peril. . . until now.
At the very bottom of the forum lies an humble link labeled C126. Never gave it much thought until I ended up with one of these cruisers.
Now, the learning curve is VERY steep for me as I foray into the unknown and step even further back in time in relation to technology.

I attempted to find help on Benzworld as a "Newbie", but had trouble navigating and lost my way. . .SO, last night, I read EVERY post in the C126 section HERE and am quite comfortable in saying that we have resident experts on the C126 that can help you out of any mess in which one might find themselves!

Just another added bonus to this wonderful and well run site.

Forever grateful to all of you. Without your help, I would have been stuck in the desert on a horse with no name (other than C126).

Your humble apprentice,

Trae

Yes, the C126 section here was started as a "hobby" by me after I was permanently booted from Benzworld some years back. Which is fine, because the signal-to-noise ratio at Benzworld 126 forum is literally off the charts. There is some good information there, but not much of it is recent, because most of the knowledgeable folks either have left that forum, have been booted, or log in once in a while but refuse to actually post there anymore.

It's a familiar pattern and there are dozens of good folks who have left over the years, leaving an echo chamber of the same old folks who honestly know little and have even less money to keep their cars properly maintained.

That said, it's deliciously ironic to me that a good number of those folks at Benzworld 126 forum who came after me some years back, have now registered for this forum and peruse the 126 content here regularly because of the HOW-TO articles and other good information. I don't mind them being here as long as they keep their noses clean. Benzworld 126 forum prominent member "Bondavi" didn't do this, and he was the very first one to get booted/banned from this site after brazenly hitting everyone and their cousin up who owned a 6-liter car for free use of their LH computers and/or EZL units. His increasingly less-subtle insults to me didn't help his case, either.
