E500E Meet in Moscow, 26.04.2014

Very nice turnout! Almost every car has some kind of aftermarket exhaust. What are the shiny squares on the underhood pad on a few cars? The red calipers on the black car with the E500 license plate look huge.

I wonder if they have photos of our So Ca GTG on the Russian sites ?

Almost every car has some kind of aftermarket exhaust.

I'll never understand why they would make the choice to cut into the bumper

You will see that on some of our cars here also http://www.500eboard.com/forums/sho...rd-Spring-GTG-Extravaganza-April-12-13-PHOTOS

These guys love to mod their cars, not a stock one in the bunch. Looks like some have changed the interior and most all are running 18" and 19" wheels.

I think the replacement pads come with these as they are a generic fit for all W124 cars, perhaps a heat shield in the turbo diesel application?

You are correct. The factory hood pad superceeded to the diesel hood pad so it only comes with the foil type insulation. This can be removed if you are very careful.

Notice the unusual medium tan colored interior in two different cars. Looks very nice.

Great thanks for the sharing .

I'm surprised to not see even one pre-facelift car , all E500 from the look .

Oh and i forgot , please tell your friend to clean their engine next time , some needs to be pampered a little more ;)

And some of them have ornaments hanging from their rear view mirrors...

Only the one with the "X500 OE 199" license plate has a pre-facelift trunk :scratchchin:

I guess these cars must be a little easier to find over there so making body mods is no big deal. I prefer the preface lift look myself.

I kinda like the concave 6-spoke wheels here. I wonder what the brand/width/offset/weight/price is:

This poor fellow had his hood pad installed upside down (back side facing out)...

Looks similar to the Mercedes xx4 interior color code (Palomino pre-facelift, Saddle post-facelift). MB never offered the Sport interior in code xx4... no idea why not.

:?:

Some big mother of all brakes and rims with these guys . Some money put into these cars. Japs tend to do the same !

Cool cars and GTG ...

LOL on the backwards hood pad ! Too much vodka ? ...or not enough?

Ernesto, the link in the thread you referenced (click here) appears to be slightly different wheels...? The spokes are wider, and the wheel face is pretty flat, more of a copy of the original Evo wheels?

The ones shown in this thread, in post 16, the spokes are narrower by the hub center, and the wheel face is concave. Maybe it's a different version from the same vendor, that looks different due to the different size/offset? Hmmm....

:scratchchin:

Dave,

My mistake

I got carried away when I read custom wheels made in Russia. Both designs are nice, still I think we need to investigate further for the EVO Wheels alternative option on 18" staggered without paying the prices offered by NEEZ in Japan.

Ernesto, you could be correct, it's hard to tell since the Russian site only shows a single wheel, not different widths/offsets. We need more info from the Moscow crowd!

:apl:

Forget abou it. You´ll never gonna get a certificat for road use.

Not a problem over here in the states. I doubt if our Dept. of Transportation would raise an eyebrow if they found wooden wheels on my car.

I agree with Drew, the quality on the Russian-German wheels couldn't be worst compared to the Chinese aftermarket replica wheels that flooded the US market. There are thousands if not millions of cars using these Asian knockoffs and I don't see any regulation from DOT taking place.

Still is very important to check the quality of the Russian made wheels to make sure they will stand the stress and par with the performance of a 036.

Well, this was checked already...3 tkm trip with 2 cars from Moscow to Georgia and back, i posted Link...No problems at all, rims witheld nearly any punishment.
For this money also nothing special.

Arkady,

They are all invited to join the event in June... post a thread on the benzclub.ru

For those of us with Instagram, I happened upon the account of one of the guys from this meet. I normally wouldn't post a link to a personal social media site without permission, but his is solely w124 based content, so I don't think he'd mind. There are some great shots of the custom wheels, as well as huge brembo brake porn. Maybe if you view on an actual computer as opposed to an iPhone like myself, someone may be able to save the photos and post them here.

Search for user name "Temur_073".

Thanks for posting the thread!:nicethread:

Just for comparison I've enclosed an image of the 19" Neez QD-5 and the Russian six spoke wheel. Both suits the 036 very well IMO.

we have spoken about different wheels, I know Temur073 for many years. these wheels are shown above cost over 6000$ per set.

What are those wheels beside Russian? Is there any site with those six spoke concave wheels?
