Ouch $330 ! Has anyone taken a Pick and pull impact strip from a non .036 w124 and heated it up and tweaked it to fit a .036 bumper? Wondering if that works or not?

I'm interested in the idea of heating a standard w124 impact strip to, I will be trying
it soon when I receive my front bar from Charlotte to Australia , I can't see why it wouldn't.
If you try let us know otherwise I will let you all know when I do it.
