Not my vehicle...just came across it on CL. Seems too cheap to be true? The blue smoke from the exhaust is worrying. Anyone know the history of this car?

Hmm, interesting. Thank you for finding and posting, kind Sir.

Anyone care to contact the seller? Need to get the VIN for our records.

I don't know if that's smoke or water vapor from the wet weather. An early build 92 judging from the steering wheel.

The color looks like blue smoke. Why would you sell a 120k mile 500E for that kind of coin unless it had some serious issues?

Difficult to say, but worth asking the seller. I've honestly not seen too many E500Es smoke. M117s, yes...M119s, no, unless extremely abused.

I'm working on it. Confirmed that it is blue smoke. Owner is sending me some more photos and the VIN. If I can, I'll drive over and look at it this afternoon. Seller states that he had car in for repair doing some of the work listed in the ad (valve covers, plugs, rotor, caps, hoses) and it started smoking after he got it back. Not a neighborhood where one would typically go looking for an E500E....gotta a be a story here for Ron!

This is what, the fourth sub-$6k car we've had for sale in the last few months? San Diego car (sold), Bay area car (sold), Portland car (still available, I think) and now this Tejas one! Ah, it's a good time to be shopping for bargain 036's. If you like any color as long as it's black!

:tejas:

Are those W210 E55's rims on that? Do they git our 036's without spacers?

Edit....Hmmm...look almost like 19" rims, so prob not W210 E55's.

I noticed the rims too. My guess, given the area that the car is in, is that they will turn out to be replicas.
