2) The second photo shows a replacement headlight lens which is verboten / not for sale in USA?

Nope. I know, shocking, right?

You can buy Euro-spec W210 Hella Euro lenses to replace the crappy faded USA-spec lenses. Just make sure to get the correct ones; they are different between non-HID and Xenon-HID. Apply Lamin-X over the new plastic lenses, as they claim to provide UV blocking which should make them last a bit longer before fading again.
