G Wagon $$$

Yep, inflation. very limited supply/production, and customer demand has pretty much doubled the prices of G-wagens over the past 3-4 years.

I'm 100% sure that includes dealer markup. The markups have been extraordinary in recent years due to demand and the fact that they can get what they ask for them.

Tanger, that is the MB sticker price. No additional dealer markup added. Gossip is that a customer ordered it for his girlfriend .
It was in the pre delivery detail shop yesterday afternoon so likely to be picked up soon.
As far as I know our dealership is selling at MSRP for all makes—MB, BMW , Mini, Honda and Alfa although the Alfa Stelvio (suv) was $5000 off 2022s.

Regards,
Peter

Consistent with the dealers I’ve been talking to about for a GLC for the wife. No markup, even though it may show one on the sticker

I drive a lot of the GLC model, I believe its MB most popular vehicle. Very nice mid size SUV. Don't know if you're looking at any other makes but the BMW X3 is also a very solid mid size SUV. Bimmer steering and handling leans towards the sporty side while MB is on the luxe, cushy side. Also don't discount the MB GLB, a smaller SUV. Got a great write up recently. Boxy shape, less $$ but still luxe inside. I recently drove one in AMG trim...really nice ride and upscale interior. Just my 2 cents.

Regards,

Peter

We got a GLC for a loaner a few months ago, and I have never seen my wife fall in love w a car like that. We even test drove the EQS SUV and she prefers the GLC. So, pulled the trigger on a CPO 22 that was an exec loaner, gets delivered Monday.

Gerry, hope you’re sitting down. The Mercedes dealer I work for part time just took delivery of a special G wagon. G63 in AMG trim. Huge 22 inch tires, some kind of roof rack, painted in a matte garnet. Ready…$367,000. Unbelievable!

Regards,
Peter
It's the second generation 4x4 squared, the squared referring to the extra ground clearance afforded by the portal axles. The first generation (2017-18) was based on the G550 whereas the new one is a G63. G63 4x4 ground clearance not as high as first generation due to IFS control arms on
W463A vs straight front axle on W463.
List price of $349,900 before options well above $179,000 base G63. List price also higher than EU price of 270,000 euro pre VAT as MBUSA wants to get some of the ADM that dealers have been getting on regular G's.
Dealers in northeast have been getting premiums as high as $200,000 over list. Most asking $70-100K ADM. See thread on MBWorld.
