Hello all

Looking for a gear gaitor for a 500E 92, without the S/W switch. My car is Japan supplied from new.

Someone has wrestled out a shift stick in the past and damaged the gear gaitor itself. Would like to fit a mint one. I am in the UK so will need it shipping there.

Cheers,

Bill

Hi Terry - I am looking for this part please - but for a 500E, must be without the E/S switch.

If that shift gate came from your 500e I think it's the wrong one in the first place. Although US/JDM 036s cars don't have E/S switch, they maintained the 'B' select AFAIK. Unless Japan is different to US cars ??

Should be like this me think:

I think he was showing that one (from a 6-cyl car) as an example.

All the 036's worldwide have the "B" position. USA and Japan do not have the E/S switch.

Correct Dave and sorry for any misunderstanding Bing

Bing, yes, the photo you have in post #5 is the correct item.

Bill, have you checked with the local dealer? A new one might not be that expensive (not sure, haven't checked)...

Thought I read somewhere it was NLA hence the search but I can't find that thread now. I am going to check with the main dealer once I'm back in London.

I found one in my car with a carbon fibre finish. It's not too tacky looking to be honest. It's yours if you want it for a small donation to Cancer Research perhaps? I'll upload a photo if you're interested.
