Thank You, kindly. I did post few pics under "Other Discussions" members and pics.
As a matter of fact, I did buy this virtually brand new. The car was imported new from Germany to Japan for this first owner, who subsequently added few options, like rear lip, center wood console, TV monitor, and changed computer module to increas HP north of 400. Otherwise, it is a stock AMG E60. I was informed that the gentleman bought this car as a second car for uses like golfing and entertaining. Hardly used, and I was fortunate to acquire this. The story was that, initially, my intent was to buy a used 500E/E500. Finally found a shop that carried a 94 E500. Went down to see it, and by luck, this shop also stocked this E60. Long story short, test drove both cars, back to back, and the outcome was obvious. I did hesitate a bit (because of the price differences), but performances were starkly different. I still remember, not being used to the car, the orange warning triangle lamp kept shining on occasions (so much torque that my right foot did not adjust accordingly. Also, I thought the speedometer was malfunctioning because it idicated a lot of speed when I thought I was going much slower than what it indicated.

The car has underwent routine maintenances and parts replacements and is still running beautifully that I cannot think of another replacement to take its place as a family car. The rest are all two seaters (except the 993 RUF Turbo S, which is a virtual two seater too). w/ smiles Jimmy

If the computer module changes you speak of were a full ECU remap across all modules, then the speedometer is not malfunctioning (unless were talking 6-8 mph over actual speed). Your car is running on higher specs while the speedometer hasn’t been recalibrated. :e500launch:

If it is a full ECU remap, can you find out what software was used? There is a specific scent the car makes if still using OEM catalytic converters when it’s running richer.

You are probably correct. Sorry for not being able to answer in a more intelligent manner, mostly due to my lack of knowledge. My comment was more in the respect of sensation, meaning I did not feel the speed since the car was so smooth and ran without effort. Whenver I get speeding tickets, it isin this car or the other one I own. w/ smiles Jimmy

Ah, got it. Yeah that feeling is very intoxicating for sure and it makes you want to continue pushing the car more and more. Goddamn I wish I was living in Europe right about now, at least for 3-4 years there with my car.

+1. These cars were, indeed, made for the German highways (autobahn ?). It reaches 200kph in matter of seconds and I was told that the fun and excitement starts north of that. And I am not even talking about how well balanced the car is. w/ smiles Jimmy
