Incorrect Carfax Service History

I received an email from Carfax today asking me to rate the service I received on my 1992 500E on July 19, 2018. The only problem is I don't own the car they are referring to and I never have. The VIN number is WDBEA36E3NB755306.

Service was supposedly completed by REV Motors in Portland. I wouldn't take my car to this place for tire air, much less any other service.

This really doesn't help my already skeptical view of all things Carfax.

I have record of this car in my database starting in October, 2005. At that time, the car was listed on eBay and had 90,651 miles on it.

My detailed comments from the time are as follows:

AMG monoblock wheels. Stock stereo. Clear front corner lights. Gray dealer-style cupholder mounted on driver's door (none on passenger door). Looks to have all books and manuals. Listing indicates that car has CARFAX. Aftermarket leather/burl shift knob. Euro headlights and 1994-style headlight wipers installed. Overall looks like a very clean car. Seller is Grand Prix Imports in Wilsonville; their web site reports selling price of $26,900.

UPDATE 11-7-05: Still on AutoTrader, asking $26,950, mileage listed as 90,500

I wonder how Carfax associate this car with me? They must assume I own every E500E in Portland.
