Hello Everyone, my name is Kamil and live in Poland.

I'm reading this board for couple years and I'm impressed how much knowledge do You have... it's priceless.
Just bought my 500E '93 with rare interior and would like to hear Your opinion about it, of course it's not original interior from this car but quality is similar to factory.
Car needs couple repairs, is accident and rust free (but some parts was repainted :( ). I'm considering if go back to pre-facelift look or stay as it is :scratchchin:

The car looks really nice - those Recaros are sweet. Any idea what the strange blue coil springs are up front? I've never seen those before.

Welcome to the forum!

Cześć KoLos, welcome to the board. Nice looking machine! This is a great place and everyone here does their best to help. Enjoy your car, and post early, post often...

KoLoS/Kamil,

Welcome to the board. Nice looking car, great color w/ proper EVO wheels. Love the AMG seats.
Looks like you have been working hard on the suspension. It's hard to find 036s in Europe without rust.

This is INFO HEAVEN for E500E Owners. You will find lots of knowledgeable people here (not necessarily me, I just enjoy the forum and add my 0.02 cents once in a while).

Anyway, enjoy the forum. Take lots of pics of your new adventure and keep in touch.

Take Care

Thank You Guys for nice words! I'll do my best to save this car in good condition, and share progress with You.

Yes they are adjustable, You can adjust high of suspension

It's almost impossible to find rust free car in Europe or prices are very high for car in good condition, that's why I decided to import this car from Japan.

What is the price for this suspension and is it still available new?
Yesterday I asked producer about it.... Unfortunately it's no longer produced.

Welcome & congrats on your 500E purchase. Really digging those AMG Branded Recaros!! The interior is really nice with all the little AMG details. I did view a 500E imported from Japan that had the AMG leather door handles etc. Didn't know if it was aftermarket or real AMG. (Likely aftermarket but still cool)

It's realy hard to tell if it's real AMG or aftermarket, seats seems to be AMG, after that all rest of interior is exactly in the same leather as seats, but it's not so important, becouse they are still cool :)

I'll try to find some stickers/part numbers on those AMG parts maybe then we will find out how it is.

Ladne auto ! Jestem Z Chicago Rodzice z Bialki Tatrzanskiej.

Car looks awesome as is I would leave it as is not switch back to pre facelift imo .

So there is several people from Poland, what a small world :)

Guys I want to change my steering wheel for something similar to that

proxy.php

Will it fit from W140, what should I check before purchase?
It would be nice to change gear shift knob too, do You have any idea from which model will it fit

proxy.php

(black wood + V8 sing on the top wood be great)

124, 140 and pre pacelift steering wheels will fit. Stitched airbag is rare option. Wooden wheels are around 200-300 usd here in Russia.
As for the shift knob V8 i from w463 and also hard to find. To install thhis type of knobs you will need to change shifter lever to w202 lever.

I have one spare airbag and nearly new shift knob, but I am still thinking whether to sell them or not))

LH module 0125456232 - will it fit?

Guys, I've bought LH module 012 545 62 32
20170308_184242[1].jpg20170308_184221[1].jpg

according forum information it should be with WOT and should fit, but have no confirmed information from which car it is.
Is it safe to put it on?
Is there some special procedure to install it or just P&P

- sparks, all fluids and filters changed, as a curiosity old air filter...
20170220_183404[1].jpg

- ECU upgraded, car runs well. ButtDyno™ didn't noticed any changes, I'll try to measure differences on more profi Dyno :)

Had some time to clean up my wheels, but results are not worth to public.
In the meantime tried on my friend wheels (unfortunately front wheel didn't fit). What do you think HOT or NOT?

NOT!!

They look to heavy and are to heavy on your light colored silver car.
Not so bad on Black cars but still look heavy. Just my opinion. Others around here like them.

Someone has a set for sale here on the forum if you want a set.

Take Care

I had oportunity to check fuel economy, and it shows 13mpg. Is it OK in your opinion?

13mpg is not normal (assuming miles and US gallons, or close to it).

First thing to check is if the odometer is working consistently - make sure it's not intermittently stopping and providing an abnormally low reading. Next item would be to check the O2 sensor age...

:detective:

Odometer works correct, i've changed o2 sensor and air intake sensor hopeing it help, but nothing has changed.
On polish mercedes boards everybody say that 21liter per 100km it's normal fuel economy. So I feel confused

For normal around town driving, mileage in the 15-18 MPG (13-16L/100km) is normal. For mixed driving, I get ~13.8L/100km, or about 17.1 MPG.

For highway driving, you get a bit better, perhaps in the 11-12L/100km range (19-20 MPG).

You can see my on-line mileage below by clicking on the photo of the E500....

13mpg is not normal unless you are sitting in traffic for hours. In USA, more typical economy is 16-17mpg with mixed driving. Pure city driving (lots of stop & go, max ~30mph) will be less. A long freeway trip should be 20mpg or better, assuming cruise control is on at 70-80mph.

Any chance you have a brake caliper sticking? Or a fuel leak?

Brakes works fine, no singns of fuel leaking.
I had to drove around 100km on cruise control set at 75km/h on high way and still fuel economy was around 13mpg then i started wondering if it is correct...

Pull your codes and reset them, and see if anything comes back. How many km does the oxygen sensor that you replaced, have on it?

Oxygen sensor have around 500km
I've 5,6,8,14 error codes on PIN7 (ETA)
5 - Stop lamp switch (S9/1)
6 - Starter lock-out/backup lamp switch (S16/1)
8 - Left front axle vehicle speed signal (L6/1) from ABS/ASR control module (N30/1)
14 - Closed throttle position switch (S29/3)

Yeah, that ain't right. If possible, next time you drive 100km confirm with the markers on the side of the freeway that the odometer is accurate over the 100km (it should be within 1% with correct tire sizes). If the odometer is accurate, you're burning way too much fuel. Another possibility is a faulty MAF providing inaccurate readings to the LH module. The O2 sensor, MAF, and EZL are the main items to focus on. The IAT normally wouldn't have any significant effect.

None of those should affect fuel economy. Were there any codes on the LH module (pin 4)?
Any difference if you use a different LH module? I'd also check fuel pressure to make sure it's not abnormally high. There would not be a code for fuel pressure issues.

:cel:

PIN4 is clear I've errors only on pin7
MAF was probably replaced
I'll replace LH module to original one

Can you tell me where you got your steering wheel? I've been looking for a black leather combination with part black polished rim, but haven't as yet been able to source one.

Thanks.
