Monotone or two tone?

I have replacing my rear bumper and I can only find one color code on the ID plate on my 94 E500. Is that indicative of it being a monotone car?
The cladding and the bumpers are not in contrast to the body color, as my other 124s.

My paint code is 744, brilliant silver.

I am planning on having the bumper professional sprayed.

Your car was delivered as 2-tone from the factory. Only Limiteds had monotone Brilliant Silver.

Since your car already had the monotone treatment, it will be easiest to stick with that, rather than repaint every lower cladding piece (and front bumper). I agree with Joe, it looks good in monotone...

Thank you for the information. This is an image of the plate on my car.

There is nothing on the data plate, or data card in the EPC, or anywhere else that specifies the color of the lower cladding. Only the main paint color is shown (744). The contrasting color is only shown in the EPC color charts for the items with the contrast color, see below.

The only models which came from the factory with monotone/monochrome paint were the Limiteds (744/009) and some of the rare non-metallic paint colors (Signal Red, Polar White, etc).

This is my E500. You think the bumper and cladding are Atlas Gray?

I can't say for sure from the 1 photo, but it kinda looks like the lowers are Atlas Gray.

here are some sample photos of the 2-tone Brilliant Silver with Atlas Gray lowers:

I do not like pre facelift with 3 different colours, i kinda like facelft with 2 tone and i love limited version in 1 tone.

You are correct, mine is not a 2 tone car. Atlas Gray it is!
Thanks again
Wait, do you mean yours IS a 2-tone car? 2-tone would be Atlas Gray lowers. Monochrome would be Brilliant Silver lowers.

Either way, have the paint shop spray a test piece to compare to the other bumper, before spraying the rear bumper.

Two tone looks good on the pre-facelift cars, the facelifted cars look best in monotone. Especially since they started doing it with the limited cars, they knew it looked best. ;)

I think your E500 would look brilliant in full brilliant silver, especially with the Evo wheels.
