Does anyone happen to know if the following from Kurth Classics in Germany is a good substitute for the lower wiring harness?

This harness can be used to repair Mercedes W124 500E and E60 AMG positive cable harnesses. The bigger cables connecting the alternator and starter remain in the car. The mostly brittle connection to sensors and the starter switch get replaced with our temperature resistance repair harness.

It's not a substitute. It's a repair kit. You must have your original harness removed, and replace the damaged wires with the ones Kurth supplies.
Some assembly is required, batteries not included, etc etc.
