Nitrile Gloves

Apparently this scam-demic has depleted everyone of nitrile gloves. I can't find the Venom 6 mil gloves anywhere. Does anyone have a good source for work gloves nowadays?

I've been looking for the Venom Steel globes myself for some weeks, as I'm getting low. The usual places that sell them, Amazon and Lowes, seem to be out of stock perpetually. I figured I'd just wait it out, seeing that toilet paper and paper towels did come back into stock at the stores.

I'm down to an uncomfortable level. They're not even available on Ebay. I'll bet your recent top-end refresh took almost a box.

I just ordered a box of orange Venom Steel gloves, 8 mil, which are thicker and have a pattern on the fingers and palms, via amazon.

I think I have about 10 left in my box. I've gone through probably 30 pairs so far, and I'm only about 70% done with the job.

Pre Covid I used to be able to buy the orange nitrile gloves for about £13 a box of 100 locally. I had 2x boxes and used them up now and no autoparts stores have stock and they do say that when they come back in the same boxes will be £26 each for the foreseeable future. That sucks!! Double the price.

After paying £16 for a box of 50x online due to running out I just bought a full case of 900 for £95.

That brings me back to just under what I used to pay pre Covid and I'll not run out any time soon! This is about a 2 year+ supply for me.

i still can't find medium sized gloves like I used to. Double the price for my old Gloveworks orange and green I used to order. Anybody find a good source. Will have to go eBay route

Well, seems that our main supplier (whoever it may be for the hospital system I work for) no longer offer nitrile gloves in L size, so I have to use the "new what's available as PPE", vinyl gloves... those rip so easy!

Whilst I re-use these gloves until they rip then bin them, the amount of work during lockdown on my w220s etc means I have already burned through 4 boxes!! About half way through 5th box now. I thought that was a few years supply but I'd guess I'll be needing more next summer.

Yes local suppliers have little to none still and the prices are 2 / 3 fold what they were before.

My Costco puts out a couple dozen boxes of blue nitrile gloves first thing in the morning most mornings the last few months.

Still no Kirkland Sig Nitrile gloves yet, it appears they sold all their stock to Kaiser Hospitals.

I have seen them lately at Harbor in two thicknesses

I still can’t get the Venom Steel gloves via Amazon or Lowe’s. Haven’t been able to since last Feb/March.

I saw Venom gloves (orange & black) on the shelf a Lowe's a few months ago, but they are not sold online AND do not show availability... have to go to a store and cross your fingers.

I picked up two boxes of these today but the Costco police made me put one back when I tried to pay for them.

You can get the Venom gloves in very small packs of say 3 pairs. I see them on Amazon in small quantity packs. But NOT the boxes of 50 pairs that you used to be able to. There are plenty of off-brands available at Lowe's or online, but they are not the same as the Venoms. I have been very happy with the 8-mil orange Venoms. They are MUCH more durable than the black ones (I think 6-mil?), but the ones I got via Amazon in the middle of the Pandemic are XXL, so quite large on my hands. But I make do. I used them pretty extensively during my Top-end job this summer.

Currently we are at 400 patients in our 900 bed hospital having covid. Scamdemic indeed.

I bought "Grease Monkey" 100 ct, 4 mil online from Home Depot 4 months ago (not available in stores). The 4 mil is a little light weight, but they have a good feel when working with small intricate parts. Depending on the type of work these gloves will last a day or even a week. A hundred count box is enough to keep me supplied for a year or more. Cost = $13.50

Been looking for these for quite a while. I think they've either changed name or are no longer sold.

There's nothing prticularly special about them, other that fit and price. Reasonably durable. From AMZN, they were about $11/box maybe 7 or 8 years ago. $15 in 2019.

I've restarted my garage floor tile project, so I'm back to using gloves on the regular. This year, due to scarcity, I've been measuring dirty jobs on whether it is something that is "glove worthy."

Down to maybe 10 or 12 pairs. Need to replenish.

These were on the shelf at Lowes in October 2020. Haven't been back since, don't know if still available...

These are thick gloves. Do you reuse them?

I'm typically working in one to two hour chunks, so I try to get two (or more) uses from a pair.

How's the fit?
Fit is good and I have used them for several hours at a time. As long as they don't get snagged on something and torn they last a long time.

If you see a box of Large size, please snag for me and send to me. I will PP you immediately. Our nearest Lowe's is 15 miles away (in Bowie, MD, halfway to Washington DC for me) and I don't get over there with regularity (as opposed to here in Annapolis, where we have TWO Home Depots within a mile of each other.....go figure).

Gerry, the ones in my photo are "one size fits most"... kinda loose on my medium-size paws. Which version are you interested in if I spot them on the shelf - Maximum Grip (50 orange/$12), Rip Resistant (100 black/$20), or Flexible Fit (50 yellow/$11)?

:update:

My local Lowes store has covered up the price tags for the two Venom nitrile gloves (orange and black). They only had Venom latex, or no-name nitrile. Looking through the blue tape, the price had gone up ~25% before they went OOS/NLA.

My local Costco finally has their Kirkland Nitrile gloves in stock but at $29.99 for the two box package. They used to be $13.99 two years ago 😟

I didn't know nitrile trees were also in high demand. Must be turning them into lumber instead of gloves.

:ROFLMAO:

I have seen the Venom Nitrile gloves back in stock in recent weeks on Amazon, but as of this morning they seem to be unavailable again. Not sure what the situation is with Lowe's having them in stock or not, but hopefully availability is getting better.

Yes. I just got a box of 50 of them at Lowe's about two weeks ago, at a price of $19 for the box. This is one-half the number of gloves as before, at essentially the same price.

Thanks Joe.
