I have for sale a pair of gray rear-deck speaker grills that fit all 500E, E500, 400E, E420, and other W124 models. These are the grills that often get sun-baked and crack if you even LOOK at them wrong.
On these grills, the plastic outside has the typical yellowing that the gray interior parts tend to get from sun exposure, so for a good match they will need to be repainted to the proper gray. That said, they are ready to install in your car NOW.
All of the clips on the bottom are 100% intact. This is almost miraculous that all of the clips are there and intact. The black marks on the tops of the grills is just foam crumblings from being stored, and rubs right off.
None of the ribs on the underside are cracked or broken. The black foam underlaying has been removed (I rubbed it off) because it was peeling and making a mess. The foam should be replaced with new foam, or what I replace it with -- black felt. It is easy to do this.
In the interest of 100% disclosure, ONE of the two grills has a tiny hairline crack. I have taken several photos of this crack. It looks 10x worse in the close-up photos than it is. It can be easily repaired with some super glue. The crack is around 1 cm in length, from the edge of the grill. Again, the photos are deliberately included to show the crack, and they make it look much more severe than it really is.
These grills are hard to find, and if you need them, you know how difficult nice base models are to find, so they can be refurbished.
I will sell these for $100 shipped, which is $80 for the grills and $20 for US Priority Mail shipping, well packed.
