Passenger side airbag woodtrim removal

Hello all,

Does anyone know if it is possible to remove the wood trim on the passenger side airbag module? If so, is it mounted on clips or with screws and bolts?

I am looking to refinish all the wood trims and wanted to make sure all trims are done the same time.

Thank you.

IIRC, it is held onto the airbag module with nuts and/or metal tabs, but it most certainly can be separated from the airbag unit without any trouble.
That part, I definitely remember correctly...

Thank you.

Looks like I will need to remove the airbag module before I can figure out how to remove it.

Klink is correct. Once the airbag is removed, there will be two small 5.5-6mm nuts holding the wood on. Make sure you disconnect the battery before removing the airbag.

There are three nuts, but only the nuts on either end are accessible. Once you remove the two end nuts you will slide the wood to the right or left which will allow the wood to be removed.
