Wow lots of changes! Are you satisfied with the electric fan conversion?

What's the electronic stuff at the throttle linkage, at the rear of the intake manifold? And the display in the center vent? :wow:

BTW, I hope the engine is not actually running below 80C coolant temps... that would indicate a bad t-stat, or a modified t-stat. Ideally you want temps to remain in the 80-90C range.

Wow, love your enthusiasm! Can you share more about the brake setup? What discs, what calipers, how did you get it to work in terms of LCA compatibility, etc.?

2005 Porshe911 carrara front calipers. Posrshe 977 GTo rear. I went this rout because i wanted 330 disc all the way around. Disc front e55 w210, rears c63 amg. Jc medoza for brackets. This set up have no alterations to LCA. This set up allow for 17'' and up wheels. My wheel center 17 steped to 18. Change spare to 17x8 wheel. Feel is excellent with stock MC and booster. Feel bought like my LS lexus. Not too sensitive but easy faster stopping.

That is throttle position sensor. Display center vent ole TCU controller. Stat, and sensor all knew, its correct, extenally tested. Hot and cold days stat right at 80, can manaully turn on off iff i want.

Out of curiosity- which brand of brake pads are you using?

Wow that some heavy modding.

I like the 5-Speed Transmission retrofit, one of the things I would like try on a 500E.

As for the cooling mod, how is in handling heavy traffic in summer? say at 40C ?

No high temp issues in Europe, but I used to try alot of mods to get the temp down in the Gulf, curious to know how this mod does.

I like it, very humid in japan summer. City traffic, it stayed on 80c mark. It took me 3 tries, meaning 3 fans, different shrouds. I figured out the shroud is critical and made my own. Im happy with results. I can control what temp come on and off. My kick on is at 92c, and kick on is gradual build up starting at 30%. So my fans never go to 100% because after kick on temp goes to 80c and stay.

Do you have more details & photos of the electric fan (and shroud) setup? Sounds really neat!

:apl:
I used this set up. I had it with just this shroud on and the fan were on to much high for my liking. These fans a much quiet than viscouse fan. Looking at photos you see i made my own shroud to set these the whole assembly in. The goal is to cover the entire radiator. After i did that the cooling was great and the fans worked less. For temp sensor i did not use pod, i t tapp to original sensor on intake head. Its tapped by can box, just trace wires back. The controller is over the battery and ground terminals cover behind can box.

Cells?. . . .
The cell count is the number of holes per square inch inside the substrate matrix. The lower the cell count, the less restrictive is the exhaust flow and the louder is the exhaust note. Some designs of the substrate matrix can also play into how the exhaust will sound. For example, running 200 cell cats will result in having almost 90% of what a straight pipe exhaust would be.

Im not sure about it, i have to find paper, to give you detail. Previousowner had it install when i got it from him. I know it sound great!

Keisseig Mai line exhaust.
Sounds good, clean. Btw, what is that box after the cats y-pipe merger? Is that a resonator or a pre-muffler? The volume of the exhaust sounds like you’re running 400 cell cats, but if that first box is being used to quiet down the exhaust, then your cats could have a lower cell count and that box quiets them down before the rear muffler.

Do you have a video of the car taking off?

Resonator, no videos taking off. I do not hear my car from inside, plus lizard skined and ply lined whole inside

In my view, that’s how these cars should sound… 400 cell cats + muffler / resonators where the stock resonator used to live… good, deep tone with zero drone but good throat when you get on it… dynamat helps too… nicely done!

maw

Definitely 19", at least the style you have there. The 20" look kind of weird on the car IMO, you know the 036 will never be a race car, but a great sport limousine.

...just my 2 cents :star:

@Provet,
Looks wise I like both sets. Maybe the Monoblocks a little better. I know with stock suspension I think 18s are the limit for a good ride. You say you have “Air Ride”. Is that on all 4 corners? If so how does it ride on these big wheels?

PS: I like the electric fan set up.

lol

19. I have 18,19 and 20 on the Baron.. 18s for the period correct size and 20 was waay to big for the W124

All 4 corners air ride with bilsten HD sports. Feel road but not too rough. Bother set wheels are 3 pcs, but I know what you meant when you described monoblock look. 19" x 9f 225x30 x 10R 265/35. 20" are 9f 235/30 X 10r 265/30. To my surprise, the 20"s Ride better. Bothsets are utilizing accelera tires which I also was a surprise very quiet.

I fealt the same way you did at first, until I put them on and drove. I guess it may depend on tire and type rim for ride quality. As for as look, they kind of grew on me. It makes the car look weird but in a unique way. I never received so many horn blows and run-up's as with the 19 Than 20's. I love the mob style mono's, that why I had to make sure I was not tripping and ask from the guys that are "for-real about the 5"!
