Hey all,
I've been a long-time lurker of the forum, even before joining and purchasing my car. It's time to introduce myself finally.
I've always wanted a W124 but has never really looked into purchasing one, a limited model was definitely not in mind. The W124 chassis is a sentimental car as it's my dad favorite chassis and he owned a few masterpiece editions back when I was living in SEA.
I purchased the car in 2024 shortly after it was imported from Japan. I was not looking for a W124 or any Mercedes at the time. The car was love at first sight as it has been very well kept cosmetically and mechanically. It may not be the purist spec or everyone's cup of tea but to me, it embodies the perfect look for a 124. Based on the maintenance records the car was a one-owner car and only two shops have ever worked on it. This was a major selling point for me aside from the condition.
You may have seen the car listed on MB Marketplace (FOR SALE - 1994 E500 Limited, Brilliant Silver/Black-Red, 201kkm, $75k (Chantilly, VA) | Cars for Sale - 500E / E500 ONLY) a few months ago due to a 993 I was after. It was close to my reserve but unfortunately, the top bidder had a budget and MBM was not willing to share the buyer's contact info because the said buyer was a "special customer/collector" (Not sure how that works but it is what it is).
Long story short, I'm very happy to say that I still have the car and enjoy driving and staring at it in my garage.
I have met a few of you at Katie's C&C (Mike, Mark, and Greg if remember correctly) and looking forward to connecting with more W124 enthusiasts.
Cheers,
A
