*** SoCal 500Eboard Spring GTG Extravaganza: April 12-13

Mark your calendars folks, for the weekend of April 12-13. We've selected this weekend as "the" weekend for a SoCal GTG of 500E/E500 owners to drop in, get to know one another, and enjoy some time with the cars.

Indeed, a true two-day festival of fun & fellowship for all FiveHundredEEE Folks.

Jeff Wong (captruff) has graciously allowed us to use his Orange County warehouse as a base of operations. The event will center around Irvine. Whips (of the mechanical or female variety) are welcome, as appropriate.

We are working on the following activities, as part of the weekend:

• A visit to the MB Classic Center (date/time TBD)
• "Cars on the lift" tech sessions at Jeff's warehouse HQ
• Visit to the Saturday, April 12 Orange County Cars & Coffee
• An .036 informal swap-meet (you can bring parts and buy/sell/trade)
• A drive up in the hills and canyons (location/time TBD)
• A restaurant dinner on Saturday night, April 12th (location TBD)
• Take-out food to be available at Jeff's HQ
• Special 500Eboard commemorative gift to everyone who attends
• An on-line preview & demo of what's coming next for 500Eboard

We'll run this as a casual "drop in as you can" type of deal, but hopefully folks should plan to devote at least one day to hanging out.

I am planning to fly out, take a vacation day on Friday the 11th April, and be around for the full weekend because I want to see everyone I haven't seen for years and meet a lot of our newer members. And most importantly to see everyone's cars !!

So let's plan to make this the biggest gathering of E500E owners yet. It would be super cool to have say 20-25 cars from all you guys in the LA and San Diego areas.

We'll publish a more formal schedule of specific events (i.e. C&C logistics/location to meet, Saturday dinner, Classic Center visit time, etc.) as things solidify. Thanks to captruff, ebergstedt, KarlC and Glen for their support, enthusiasm and help in making this happen. Once planning is a bit further along, we'll publicize via other forums too, but this thread should be the center of the universe on this.

There are a ton of hotels options in Orange County however if you want to stay the immediately vicinity of SNA / John Wayne Airport (which is also not too far from C&C and the CC) you can just do an Expedia search:

Maui ... you could stay at Glen's house so you can drive one of his two cars up to the event. Carlsbad (South) is about 56 miles South of Jeff's MB Workshop and 500E storage (suspiciously operating as a Glove Distribution Warehouse).
