Set "A" = Tools For Servicing and Adjustment Jobs.
Set of 141 Tags Thru MY '95.
Each tag has a picture of the tool, a description, a model application (125, 126, 119, etc.), along with a part number and Service Group Number.

These were used on tool boards to keep track of which item was given out to technicians.
It now has the secondary effect of having a record as to what one doesn't have as well as to identify both the items and their use when searching for used tools.

I have to agree and I do have some, but there's always room for more, 989's along with a few 986's even.

And the 036 and 129 have Q1381's designed for them specifically !!!!

As a service to all our members I most humbly present the following for hours and hours of enjoyment:

There are few ways better to spend ones time than pouring over a Spezialwerkzeuge Catalogue.

Everyone has their fetish. My friend Marc van de Velde (the wrecking yard owner in Belgium) .... his fetish is acquiring "unmolested" spare tires and wheels -- i.e. wheels/tires from ANY Benz, whatever age, that have never touched the ground.

If history is to be believed he's actually a very wise man. As cars move from "driver" to "collectable" the emphasis will be on original unmodified cars. The Corvette people started the "Matching Numbers" stuff and that spread to every date coded part including tires. Not sure why one SB or BB Chevy block is different from the next (with a few exceptions of course) but matching number cars are the coin of the realm as far as values.
So to be able to have 5 NOS wheels and tires will be a plus, IMHO, in a few years when one tries to distinguish their 036 from the other 036's for sale.
I had a friend who collected Porsche Carrera's, the 4 Cam cars, and he was always looking for NOS tires from the 50's. Found some, paid a fortune for something that is good for show only. Then again.... no one HAS to have these cars so why not shoot for a time warp car, or failing that, restore one to that standard?
I personally think it's silly but that's how I see it.

Marc has quite a collection, and I'm very very sure can put together sets of 5 for quite a few Benzes from the 1950s onward. I've learned not to ridicule others' car-related fetishes, however anal or ridiculous they may seem. I have a very minor fetish for owner's manual packs, and MB parts and service manuals. Fortunately I was able to acquire most paper manuals in the 2000s, when they were a fair bit cheaper. Going to the swap meets in Germany was a huge help for that.
