Spot welded posts

Over the years my car has lost a few of the spot welded posts that hold the fender liners and some of the shields as well as the SLS reservoir.
I would very much like to have them restored. Do you guys know if MB has the posts? I have not seen them in EPC at all. Also I assume a body shop would be the one to spot weld them. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I've wonder the same thing for years. Austin (omegabenz) found a solution that attached metric threaded posts, which is different than stock, but might work in a pinch. You'd have to ask him how he did it though.

:scratchchin:

That looks like a great tool to have in my arsenal, Glen. Do you know anything about where to buy them or what special tools are needed to install them?

Sorry guys, I don't have any first hand experience with them.

I have used both Rivnuts/blind nuts and blind studs. My buddy has the Wurth tool, and has them in various metric sizes. Local trade shops for body/paint shops usually have them in stock.

The Wurth installation tool has long handles so you need space to get it to work it.
