Turn signals won’t turn off after a turn?

My turn signals work and blink like they should but don’t automatically turn off after making a turn. They will turn off if I move the turn signal lever back into center location.

Any ideas what is wrong?

thanks 🍻

Is the problem identical in both directions, or worse in 1 direction?

Sounds like either the steering column is off center (regardless if the steering wheel is centered), or there's an issue with the mechanism that cancels the turn signal... this may be part of the switch assembly, I can't remember offhand.

You will need to remove the steering wheel for further inspection, but it's possible the combination switch is defective. On my old E320 wagon, turn signals cancelled normally in one direction, but never cancelled in the other direction. Replaced the combo switch and that cured it.
