In This Old House style...What is it?

As I was refreshing the 036 from a winter slumber, found under the general area of the trans pan. Made out of chromed metal/steel. Doesn't look like anything from the car but for a number of reasons (I'll spare you details) a random piece like this would of had an epic day to end up there. Not impossible, I guess, but it does bend my mind enough to potentially lose sleep over it.

Any ideas?

@kwontumspeed,
I really have no clue to what it is but it looks like some kind of in & out slide control for something. The straight rod would slide in/out and be connected to another part (like a formal shift knob or switch) at the twin pin end.

Is somebody playing a trick on you and threw it under your car? Reminds me of the guy who’s bragging he’s getting 60mpg in his Buick not knowing someone is adding gas to his tank.:jono:
