I'm pretty sure those are for the center. The door ones have a bit more decoration around the border. Unfortunately I have one middle one and one door one. Need another door. I'm happy to paint parts if you come across the other style.
Add it to the list of difficult things to find for these old gems...

You are correct. I forgot about that. The center rear is all plastic, but when I parted a 500E I took one of the rear side ashtrays for the center.

The center section/insert on pedestrian 124 ashtrays are fabric, while ours are with leather. You get them with burlewood insert as well.Veeeery interesting....can you show me WHERE is the difference?

USA models must be different than ROW/Europe. All North American spec 124's have plain plastic rear ashtray face plates, except the 036. Never seen the fabric inserts before, because USA never got fabric/velours interiors.

I honestly don´t think Mercedes produced rear ashtrey only for 036.... We leave wooden inlay out, it´s amg option i guess.
There are 2 different types of ashtray, yes, but it depends on year of production. Without and with chrom stripe. I´d like to get part number for 124036 rear ashtray and compare it to pedestrian one ..... i bet we´ll see no difference, but i also learn new stuff with pleasure

EPC says A1248102130 is for Standard/ROW 034/036 only, with Tex or Leather.
A1248101730 is used with velours/fabric on many, many 124 chassis & regions.
A1248100030 is the generic plastic-face ashtray used on all USA 124's (except 036).
The EPC incorrectly shows A1248100030 for the 036 in North America. I've added this to my list of EPC errors. Screenshot below:

Exactly. I have only one at the moment and it's...it's just empty. It's like not driving at all...I could never live without leather inserts on the ashtray covers, really nice to drive with - adds at least 5 hp!
