WTB: S124 wagon window clips 124-988-01-81

I had the side rear cargo area windows removed on a wagon to treat rust. When it was time to put the windows back in, the shop found it can't source 4 clips it needs. PN 124-988-01-81. They've been on order since April 4 and in the MB parts system they show as available. But they're not shipping. Does anyone have a few spares to sell?

Or does anyone know if another part will work? Maybe for a W210 wagon?

Melville you can also get on Car-Part.com and see if a car yard/salvage yard might have a wagon in your area that you could pull some clips. What year and model wagon do you have?

Thanks for all your help MB V8! I called Adsit and their system shows they have 1 of the clips. That's 1 more than anyone else, but unfortunately I need 4. They are going to see if they can find some more and call me back.

Your idea to look for a car in a salvage yard is good, but I'm not sure I'd be able to get the clips out. I'd have to carefully remove the rear quarter windows and then get at the clips. My technique (introducing a hammer to a window) probably wouldn't work.

Melville, what does Paragon show for inventory levels in Germany? I'm assuming there are zero in USA warehouses, but if there is stock across the pond, someone should be able to shake 'em loose. How about calling MBCC and talking to Tom Hanson?

:hornets:

I talked to Tom last week (he's out of the office this week). His system showed they were in stock in Germany but none in the US. His system also showed that an order was placed on April 4 but not shipped. This was placed by the shop fixing my windows and they placed the order through a local MB dealer. Tom was going to place another order and follow up himself. I also talked to Renee and Naperville. She said basically the same thing as Tom except that she guessed the order shipped but was stuck in customs. I placed another order through her (clips are $1.50 each so if I get extras, no biggie). I talked to her again today. No developments.

Developments:

The guys at Adsit called me back to say they sourced the clips. I ordered 8 so I'd have some spares. They're marked up (from $1.50 to $4) but they need to make some money for their work so no big deal.

Then I talked to Tom Hanson. While he was on vacation, 4 clips arrived. They'll reach me by mid-week!

I also previously ordered 4 from Naperville.

I don't want to cancel at either Adsit or Naperville. They both put in time on the phone with me and in tracking them down so they should get some compensation instead of more time with me to cancel the orders. Which means--I'll be the new worldwide supplier of these magic clips!
