Mercedes-Benz 500E / E500 Data Card Decoder

Mercedes-Benz factory data cards document the original production specification of each vehicle. This reference identifies the principal fields found on 500 E and E500 data cards and explains how to interpret vehicle identification, production information, drivetrain numbers, paint and upholstery codes, factory options, and other manufacturing information.

Factory Option Codes

The numbered entries across the lower portion of the data card are individual Mercedes-Benz factory option codes. These identify equipment and specifications fitted to the vehicle at production.

The 500Eboard Registry records these codes individually for each vehicle, allowing original factory specifications and option combinations to be compared across the 500 E / E500 production population.
