Timing Rail Guides

It turns out that the timing chain guides rail on my 1992 400 have failed. Luckily, I caught it before any damage was done to the engine. I want to order new guides. How many are there and is it possible to order them all without the chain?

Most of what you need is here:

Time to start on timing chain guides since I found a piece of inner guide in the oil pan. This car has lived an easy life and I got the car in 1997 with 80,000 miles on the odometer. My friend at the Montvale Mercedes test center ran the vin and the car had only a couple of warranty issues with sunroof and paint.

It now has 265,000 miles on it and when I pinned the cams the left cams pinned at 44 degrees and right cams at 43 degrees with the broken guide so I am not going to replace the chain.

I do have a couple of questions on the order of replacement. Should I do the passenger side first, then left side intake and left side exhaust? I have all Mercedes parts including timing chain tensioner.

My other question is does anyone know the part number for the rubber drain tube guides for the valve cover tubes. For some reason the left side did not have one installed. I plan to remove the cam adjusters since I have the factory socket. This car was built in 10-92 so it has the second design spring, but I have never has a rattle issue and I have installed the update drain back valve in oil filter housing.

Thank you for your help!

Not sure it matters on the order, you'll need to remove all 4 sprockets anyway. I started from the passenger side and worked to the driver side. Chain tensioner is not a wear item but a new one doesn't hurt.

The rubber funnel is only present on the passenger side. Part numbers are here.
