Oil Cooler: Service and Repair

Preparation
- Bottom engine compartment panel removed.
- Front bumper removed.

Removal/Installation





- Unbolt oil lines (1) and (9) at air-to-oil cooler (2).
Tighten to: 30 Nm.

NOTE: Counter-hold with wrench at air-to-oil cooler (2) when performing this step.

- Detach springs (5) from left and right mounting plates.
- Unbolt brackets (10) and (11).
- Remove air-to-oil cooler (2) with brackets (12) and (13) and rubber bushes (14) and (15).
- Install in reverse sequence, observing tightening specifications.
- Check for leaks when engine warm.

NOTE: The oil circulates in the air-to-oil cooler (2) once the temperature thermostat element in the oil filter opens.

- Check oil level, adjust to correct level.
