Hi guys,

I´am trying to find out the production numbers of the G63 V12 with the M137 engine built between 2002 and 2003.

I have found this article which claims 5 were built.

2002 Mercedes-Benz G63 ///AMG – Mercedes Aficionado

This far I have 1 VIN where I´am sure the car is a G63- WDB4632481X127865 from this Insta profile

Instagram

The funny thing is there is nothing absolutely nothing on the datacard showing it´s a G63. The datacard is showing just a normal white G500 sold in Dubai.

Then I have 3 more VINs of XLWB (ZE5) cars where I´am not sure but they meet the description or cars I´ve seen on photos:

WDB4632481X127011- should be this car and should be in Nigeria nowdays

Now here we have a unique Mercedes G-Wagen: G63 AMG XXL V12 6-seater from AMG | BMW M5 Forum and M6 Forums

WDB4632481X127595- with whereabouts unknown

and

WDB4632481X133325- should be in Russia, Krasnodar Krai with plates Х924ео123 (not sure it´s a G63, in Russian database it´s a G55 but 63s were not an official model and had G500 VINs)

This should be either WDB4632481X127595 or WDB4632481X133325. I was told the car was present during the 25th anniversary meet in Germany in 2004.

I have also seen a graphite gray normal 2850mm wheelbase G63 for sale in Moscow around 2011 but unfortunatelly I haven´t saved the pictures...

So my questions:

  1. What about the number 5 in the Mercedes Aficionado article- can anybody confirm it? Are there 5 normal LWB 2850mm wheelbase cars (BA6) or is it LWB+XLWB (3428mm wheelbase ZE5)?
  2. Has anybody seen WDB4632481X127011, WDB4632481X127595 or WDB4632481X133325 live and can confirm they are G63 V12s?
  3. Does anybody remember the gray G63 from Moscow? Has pictures, knows the numberplate or maybe even VIN??
  4. Does anybody know any more G63 V12s than I have listed??
Thanks in advance :)

If the datacards can't be differentiated then I don't see any other way to confirm the production numbers. I believe the W215 and W220 had the 030 option code to indicate it's a CL/S63 AMG but I don't see that on any of the datacards for the 463.248 chassis. I did find only 2 463.248 with a M137 engine specified in their datacards.

WDB4632481X127643 (Converted to G63 December 2005)
WDB4632481X127620

Do you already have this one?
I don't have VIN. But Tino Zovko (he's on FB) will have, i suppose. He had it for sale some 5 years ago.

VIN 127011 is this one. With the remarkable interior.
And also reading "12 were built".

But "how many were built" is often hard to find out.
On insta i once read these "numbers made" for S63 and CL63.
Differs from what i read previously.

This person seems to be doing the exact same thing I've been, querying EPC directly. I get those same values.

Differs from what i read previously.
They are lots of numbers thrown around online. Some are what is stated by Mercedes which may not be correct or just unknowingly started somewhere spreading through word-of-mouth.
In a case where someone can query directly from EPC they may be too quick to jump to a number; I've come across cases where a VIN can be found in multiple databases so the total production might be off by 1-2 (you can see the screenshot outlines Europe, Japan etc as those are each a database of their own).
If querying an entire model/chassis (not small numbers like the CL63 and S63 above) I eventually noticed missing VINs in EPC too.
Lastly, production numbers may not match what was advertised/sold to the public. These numbers are what get thrown around the most; I read online there are 100 CLK DTM coupes but pulling from EPC there are 103.

I've had a bit too much free time over the holidays so spent some time automating the access of all EPC databases, parsing this data by SA codes and/or other criteria to get worldwide production numbers of various AMG models by any option/color but it'll scale for any model really.

Indeed, MB throws around incorrect numbers a fair amount. One very relevant example is the "1505" number they quoted for official exports of the E500E to the US.

They didn't take into account the two codes on the data cards for European Delivery cars, which technically were manufactured as US-spec vehicles and were exported to the US - after the owner took the delivery in Europe. So, they were missing 23 cars that had one of these two "European Delivery" codes on their data cards.

WE were the ones who found and corrected this error. And if you ask MBUSA Customer Support or the Classic Center (US or Germany) even today, they will tell you "1505" is the number of US-spec models made.

And they will be wholly incorrect.

I eventually realized that when comparing the data in the Wiki here. I've seen the same issue when looking at the US W210 E55s. I'm starting to believe more of the raw data in EPC than what Mercedes might have claimed or wherever some of the random numbers I see online came from.

Might be outside the scope of this forum but I could certainly do it for the W124 at least, I started to come up with the following list of worldwide production numbers of some of the models in the AMG 45 book and from one YouTube video of rare AMG models. Even these might not be 100% but certainly more accurate.
