WANTED 1994 E500 Speedometer with ASR

Looking for a correct .036 speedo with ASR. My original binnacle had DDD and the replacement speedo is non-ASR. Original speedo is hiding in storage. Not sure what the actual part number is...

Evidently your speedo was replaced with one from another W124 model. Can you post the part number on the bottom of the face of your car's speedo?

Just FYI -- there is no such thing as an .036 speedo WITHOUT ASR. All E500Es came from the factory with ASR, and hence, all speedos (whether in km/hr or MPH) would have the ASR triangle in the center of them.

If you already have one in storage, the best solution is to get it out of storage. These are really hard to find available to purchase, especially if you want USA spec with MPH (about 15% of worldwide production).

If you use a 400E USA speedo it will need a correction box adjusted manually, if you don't mind the indicated shift points being wrong.

Gerry, my car does have a incorrect non-ASR speedo from another W124. My E500 was built in 11/93. What would be the correct part number? Thank you

My E500 was made in September of 1993, and the speedo part number is 124 542 02 69.

Photos attached.

Gerry, not sure what my original speedo part number was but the non-ASR replacement is 124 542 12 69. I may have to opt for a 400/420 replacement w/ASR if I can find one. Our storage area was broken into, trashed and auto parts and motorcycle parts are missing. The intact original binnacle with E500 speedo may have been taken in the theft.
