KEY FACTS

A rare and imposing 1990s super-saloon, this is understood to be one of only six examples of the W140-generation Mercedes-Benz S72 AMG ever produced, and number two of just three examples believed to have been built for the EU market.
It is powered by a 7.2-litre naturally aspirated V12, delivering around 532PS to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission.
Originally delivered to Germany and first registered in May 1994, this left-hand-drive example is accompanied by an AMG certificate and photo documentation of the engine number stamp verifying its authenticity.
This example is now located in the Netherlands, though it is reported to retain an Estonian registration.
The odometer indicates 115,470 km, which the seller believes to be genuine.
EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

The S72 AMG was an extremely limited-production performance saloon hand-built by AMG before Mercedes-Benz’s full acquisition of the brand. It featured a significantly reworked version of the M120 V12 engine, with bespoke internals and a displacement enlarged to 7.2 litres.
This example is finished in the sophisticated shade of Blue-Black Metallic, over a two-tone Exclusive Black and grey leather-trimmed interior, punctuated by wood veneer trim.
It rides on a set of 18-inch AMG split-rim alloy wheels finished in silver with polished barrels, and fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tyres.
Equipment includes headlamp washers, a top-tinted windscreen, an AMG-branded steering wheel, an electric sunroof, cruise control, an AMG 300km/h speedometer, electrically adjustable heated front seats with three-position memory, a rear window blind, electrically adjustable heated rear seats, electrically adjustable ride height, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, a Mercedes-Benz-branded cassette stereo with a CD multichanger in the boot, fold-down rear cabin illuminated vanity mirrors, and electrically adjustable folding door mirrors.
The car is accompanied by tools, a spare wheel, a warning triangle, the original stamped service booklet and owner's manuals, the AMG conversion confirmation certificate in a black presentation box, a VIN-decoder printout, copies of the registration documents, and the AMG-branded leather document wallet.
Two remote keys are included.
CONDITION

Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition.
The most recent roadworthiness test was on 22 July 2025.
SERVICE HISTORY

The seller states that the last maintenance was carried out in July 2025 at an indicated 115,458 kilometres by Motor Union OU, which included new spark plugs being fitted, all new filters installed, and the engine oil and brake fluid being changed.

SUMMARY

This W140-generation Mercedes-Benz S72 AMG is an extraordinary and seldom-seen product of AMG’s pre-merger era, boasting handcrafted engineering, an opulent specification, and true rarity—with only six examples believed to exist. This particular example is confirmed by AMG documentation as genuine, with correct matching-number components and period accessories. It would make a remarkable centrepiece in any Mercedes-Benz or performance saloon collection, offering both historical significance and formidable performance credentials
