The colour is freeken gorgeous.... damn it when I had a black one, I wanted a bornite one, but now that I have a blue one, I want a black one again - I'm so confused.

Perhaps MB should have done a Henry and offered the 036 only in black :scratchchin:

about 60% of the 036 production was in black (mostly 199 Blue Black), second was silver.

Would be very interesting to know how many cars of each of 22 colours were made....is it possible?

Re: This is interesting

That has been around for years. I don't think it's actually for sale. Rumor has it the engine may have ~250km but the odometer was replaced/reset when they built the 6.4L engine and restored the car. It actually has higher km's on the chassis. Others may be able to share more info. In the meantime, I have archived the data on my website here.

Its Bodo's personal car (CEO of Brabus). Not for sale, it's on the site as a restoration example. Cost was more than 100,000 Euros for 6.5L and restoration work.

Here are some additional photos that I had, of this same VIN, in my database.

Is it the same car ?!? I guess so......

Interesting. That has to be one of the latest VIN numbers on record for any .036 chassis. Datacard indicates March-1995 delivery. It also indicates 199 paint, which that car obiously is not... looks like 040 to me. The windshield wiper was also painted body color, along with the lower cladding & bumpers.

Datacard engine number is 10,599 which is also interesting, as the official chassis production numbers were only 10,479. Maybe a few extra .974 blocks were built as bases for 6.0 motors? Or, the production numbers are slightly lower than actual.

:detective:

Almost the perfect incarnation of an 036 in my opinion, I hope my future E60 will look that good :thumbsup2:

By the way we have engine number 11997412010546 here in Dubai in a Limited that has just come out of Japan Dave, so there goes that 10,479 number again.

Fudge, do you have a VIN to go along with that engine number of 10,546...? At least the last 6 digits of the VIN?

:neeedvin:

View attachment 7217Hello Mr Dave... will the data card do?
Perfect! That's another super-late VIN.

WDB1240361C198916 = engine 10,339 (Limited)
WDB1240361C206733 = engine 10,460 (Limited - Russia/Japan)
WDB1240361C208913 = engine 10,494 (Limited - UK, converted to 6.0L)
WDB1240361C209598 = engine 10,502 (Limited - Japan car)
WDB1240361C212018 = engine 10,546 (Limited - Dubai car)
WDB1240361C214259 = engine 10,423 (Limited - Jan77's car)
WDB1240361C224804 = engine 10,563 (not Limited)
WDB1240361C235719 = engine 10,599 (not Limited - Brabus car)
WDB1240361C235921 = engine 10,596 (not Limited)
WDB1240361C246412 = engine 10,643 (not Limited)

These have got to be some of the very last .036's to roll off the production line. Anyone have other VIN's at C24xxxx or higher?

WDB1240361C212018 = engine 10,546 (Limited - Dubai car)
WDB1240361C235719 = engine 10,599 (not Limited - Brabus car)
WDB1240361C235921 = engine 10,596 (not Limited)

Brabus'n like a Boss

I dropped into Brabus Middle East on the weekend and fell in love with this conversion.

I had the price was in USD$ not dirhams 3 times. Holy smokes they sure know how to empty peoples wallets.

Amazing showroom and hope to get invited back and take some picks for here.

BRABUS is exaggerating the prices for a lot of things.

The Brabus Exhaust system I bought for the 07 E500 costs 2350.- Euro... though its actually a Remus built Unit (1000/1100 Euro) the Remus units even look exactly the same (Quad Round tips, stainless steel with heat coating).

The Engine conversions are 35,000 Euro for the M273 engine (5.5L -> 6.1L)!

But a W124 E500 6.5L .....Priceless !!!

Someone somewhere posted this pic. How old ist this? Any information?
The odometer photo is from one of the Brabus "E65" cars (with 6.4L engine) that had the odometer reset when the engine was installed, and the car was restored at the same time. Pics above show different wheels. Odometer reading is from 2012 or older. Above photos mirrored at this link.

VIN = WDB1240361C235719

Merged multiple threads on same car.
