Has it been done before....? I don't like soft tops as a rule but that would be a nice conversion!

Well, first- about this car on ebay- i saw just one picture of it some time ago ( very first pic), so i´m happy to see finaly more :P
If it was ever done before? I think so, look at other pics. :banana1:

That looks like a straight 6 engine to me? Or is it just the body changes? I can only speak a little german if I'm trying to rhyme in spanish.
 
Appears to be 500E fenders front & rear, but otherwise stock. Nice color combo, shame it's not in better condition...

What I meant was has the mechanical conversion been done before with the 119 etc., or just the fender swaps?

Shure, look for example at firma Löwer. They even built 600CE V12 :worthy:

I never saw real A124 with 5 or more liters.... :oops:
But of course it doesn´t mean that there are NO A124 500E...
